Nothing new about ballet-spoilers
8 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The movie plot is very weak. It is well know how high is the competition in very prestigious ballet schools. Unfortunately, parents sometimes are eager for their daughters to become ballet dancers much more than their children. This is the case in the movie. After years and years of hard work the young ballet dancer decides to forget about her training and to start a career in contemporary dances for which she did not need 10 years of classical ballet training. The young ballerina is a self-centered daughter who is not grateful for her parents sacrifice to pay for her education. No matter what the movie director wanted to prove I see only a warning for parents who have to make too much sacrifice for nothing. Ballet is either for very gifted individuals who are admitted to prestigious academies on scholarships or for children from rich families who do not mind to dance a white swan in the third line of the corps.
