'Stone Cold' didn't do well in theaters, but there's some cheesy charm to be found in this 90's actioner. Ex-pro footballer Brian "Boz" Bosworth is supported by some solid characters actors, a capable action director and cool stunts. It's also interesting to read about it's sordid production history.

Joe Huff (Bosworth) is an Alabama cop suspended for not playing by the rules approached by the FBI to infiltrate a biker gang called "The Brotherhood" lead by "Chains" (Lance Henriksen) & Sgt-At-Arms "Ice" (William Forsythe) who are gaining power. Undercover as Jon Stone, he'll have to find a way in without blowing his cover, arousing suspicion and take 'em down before they can kill high ranking government officials.

Trying to make an action star of a sports celebrity with no acting experience it's clear right from the start they tried to put a good package around him. The leadoff scene is a piece of work showing how cool, unique looking, bad-ass the hero is. Henriksen & Forsythe can do bad guys in their sleep and bring plenty of energy amping up the proceedings. There's a bunch of fist fights, gunplay, multiple explosions and last but not least some gratuitous female nudity.

It goes without saying 'Stone Cold' doesn't have an original bone in it's body. The story is a test pattern, but if you want to see likable faces tearing up the screen yelling, committing violence and all that other macho bs - this is your ticket. The use of bad bikers is action movie 101 and this fits right in with the rest of this particular genre.
