Tepid, but with good moments
30 January 2024
Not a bad movie, but mildly funny and entertaining crime action comedy directed and starred by Sidney Poitier and co-starred by Bill Cosby. The opening scenes heightened my expectations, as I firstly saw stunning Jayne Jennedy and awesome cameo of big George Foreman in the bluecollar scenes. However, nothing that would eventually happen would be related to those very first scenes. The gambling mob film is silly, with camp cartoon-like events, but has good moments, and Denise Nicholas in the ending was great. By the way, there is no rigged fight if the boxer were not drugged or hurted, and if none of them lose intentionally.
