Again, another great BBC presentation with tense scenarios, plots, dialogue and cast. But again, it was almost ruined by the horrible, inappropriate, non-stop, bothering, annoying, and disturbing, sometimes even absolutely unnecessary music which tried so hard to exaggerate the situations of the on-going plot. I really don't know why BBC has to request the music crew continue to add every segment of the drama with soundtrack that not only disturbed the attention of the viewers' focus, but at the same time, like setting up roadblocks to impair the flow of the story-line. With the almost non-stop, tedious, formulaic short irrelevant repeated tunes, there's no way that the viewers could concentrate. The over-the-top exaggerated scores that accompanied the Western genre of gunfighters, cowboys, robbers, sheriffs, stagecoaches, railroads, as well as the romantic genre movies in the 40s', 50s' and 60s' etc., etc., always sounded like bombardments is the reason why these kind of period genres were gradually rejected by the audiences and phased out. Yet again, it seems that BBC is doing it again, but this time, with non-stop, usually three short beats music to repeatedly appeared with the scenes. This idiotic music must be used as less as possible, allowing us, the viewers, a more peaceful and bothering-free watch.
In summary, this "Vienna Blood" is a very pretentious and lame drama serial. Not worth a penny for your time.
