We shall fight them on the beaches

Excellent iconic British film centred on a young Mod, Jimmy (Phil Daniels) and his disillusionment in his life.

Everything starts off well though, he loves the mod lifestyle (the music, fashion, pills and the tribalism), but hates his job and authority. When he discovers the lifestyle has it's downside his life spirals out of control.

With mainly a young British cast this is a very well made film with obviously an brilliant soundtrack. Based on The Who LP of the same name and made with the bands involvement, the groups songs play a pivotal piece of the film (almost a character of it's own).

In hindsight many of the cast had great success in their own right in the future mainly in the UK, but Sting was probably the most successful even though he speaks not a word in the film.
