I had hoped that Monk would have moved to a better place with his issues. I'd hoped to see him stronger than we last left him. Better and more confident. I felt so much pain for Monk in this movie and how no one noticed how troubled he'd become. How lonely he was and would continue to be. I hurt for this poor man. It was a very depressing Monk. Wouldn't it had been so much better to have watched and saw how Monk got so much better and how he'd changed? That's what I had hoped to see. Yes, the pandemic made everyone Monk-like but you definitely could have maybe made it more positive where we could see Monk doing his thing. I don't know... I'd really like to have seen some more episodes of the old series seeing Monk in his happiest time because something awful happened... everyone moved on and left Monk in the wind. Even the police department. So sad. In the end, all he had left was his dead wife. If possible... make another movie at least to tie this movie up. The series ending was so good. Monk deserves to have a life where he says his final goodbye to his long since dead wife and move on to bigger and better things.
