Thinking back on it, "Dinosaurs" wasn't that good of a show, but at the time I was digging it. I was still young enough to be entertained by people walking around in dinosaur costumes. In all honesty, they were human in just about every sense. They had all the same issues, hang-ups, wants and needs as people--they just happened to be dinosaurs. I think that little oddity is what got them four seasons. This same show with regular folks doesn't even make it past its pilot.
The show featured the Sinclairs. There was the father Earl, Fran the mother, Robbie the teenage son, Charlene, the teenage daughter, and Baby. There was also the grandmother, Ethyl. It was novel, hence it was entertaining. But much like a Max Headroom, ALF, or other novelties, the novelty wears off pretty quickly.
