I am so glad that feminism and human rights and workplace abuses and violence have now finally come to the fore. How many thousands of young people, both young girls and young boys have been abused by these toxic and pedophiliac men? I would say it's in the thousands, and many kept quiet, because under the guys of entertainment and professionalism, and male patriarchy, nobody said anything.
Thank goodness for the me too movement, and it took something this severe and drastic for the heads of studios to say oops we screwed up. Pretty much every young person I know who's been in Hollywood has some issue. Not all, but many. And look what happens to their careers. They wind up drinking or doing drugs and becoming a mess. I don't think that happens by chance. There should not be this high of a toll to pay to simply be an entertainment. I think this documentary is amazing and it shines a light on the studio heads and writers.
Dan and Brian are both pieces of crap who need to spend the rest of their lives in prison. Anyone who has come forward to tell their story, we are all very proud of you. Thank you for bringing this documentary to the public, so we can understand that we must protect our children, we must protect women, we must protect men. Because there are lecherous and abusive men out there, who will take advantage of people when in positions of power.
I hope Drake and Amanda, and anyone else who is negatively affected by these two outlaws, become brighter and more recover . My heart goes out to anyone who is subject to this toxicity.
The four-part series was done very well, and as disturbing as it was, I think it's a subject that we all need to be familiar with. I hope at sometime, or at some point, people will not have to pay HBO to learn of these horrors, and it will serve as a public service announcement, to all the families who don't have access to HBO, and who want to put their children in the spotlight. I don't blame all the parents, but I blame many of the parents, who want to live vicariously through their children, and will probably subject their children to all types of abuses just for a paycheck. I'm not saying this always happens, but it happens more than we would know.
I'm a generation, X lady, so I really never watched any of the shows, but I'm familiar with the stars. And seeing what happened behind the scenes with Brian and seeing how Dan staged a lot of these repulsive and sexually oriented themes was disgusting. And just a think the millions upon millions of children, who watch this thinking it's entertainment, not knowing that it was some sick, pervert behind the scenes, writing a script That allowed them to envision their fantasies.
I will be interested to see episode number five and I would hope that it contains more episodes and perhaps goes back in time. Because other people back in the 40s and 50s were also abused, so let's shine the light on that as well.
