To update the backdrop, the scriptwriters looked for a modern problem with the same tension, so they placed the story in the conflict between Chechen nationalists and Islamists opposed to the Russian state.

This film which was originally titled ¨November Man" or ¨Spy Legend¨ or ¨La conspiración de noviembre¨ was professionally directed by Roger Donaldson, although it has some flaws. Donaldson's first film was Sleeping Dogs (1977), which was the first made in his native New Zealand in 15 years and also the first to be shown in American cinemas. Roger is a good director and producer, known for The Bounty (1984), Dead End (1987), Burt Munro (2005), Species (1995) and Cocktail (1988), among others. Rating: 6/10. This film is exactly aimed for Pierce Brosnan fans.
