"Late Night with the Devil" is definitely the best horror movie of the year 2023. Its script tells the story of a late-night talk show and its special broadcast on Halloween night in 1977, all with that television show style accompanied by fashionable themes of the seventies, such as satanism, possessions and parapsychology, managing to stand out completely. The film has art direction and costume design that really manages to take us back to the seventies. Its style of an episode of a late-night talk show mixed with elements of the found footage subgenre and with nods to classic horror films like "The Exorcist" and "Carrie" is excellently carried out by the two directors who know perfectly what they want to capture on the screen. The performances of the cast are extraordinary, highlighting David Dastmalchian and Ingrid Torelli. The cinematography is incredibly atmospheric, the editing work is extraordinary and the soundtrack is amazing, these three technical points achieving that air of a real television program from the decade in which the film is set. The prosthetic effects are well done, looking like those used during the '70s, '80s, '90s and early '2000s, in addition to providing a certain dose of gore. "Late Night with the Devil" is a masterpiece, an instant classic that will go down in cinema history as one of the best horror films ever made.
