Though Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead was the third in a row to feature almost non-stop smackdowns and shoot-’em-ups, battle fatigue and fatalities were beginning to be less of a concern than crises of conscience. In fact, the speed at which sides were forming (with Daryl, Morgan and Tara on Team Kill ’Em All, and Jesus, suddenly Rick and maybe Maggie on Team Live and Let Live) strongly suggested that, before the Saviors were vanquished, the allied forces would be fighting one another. Which characters wouldn’t still be around to see the conflict resolved? Read on…...

Young and the Restless fans don’t think there is any chance that Tessa is going to stick around and try and have any sort of life with Mariah. She’s not going to do it, though we do think she really likes her. We think that her history and all we still don’t know about her will catch up to her and make it impossible for her to find a way to have some true happiness in her life. Are people really starving this badly for a spectacle nowadays? A hoverboard explodes into flames in a mall and people whip out their phones and start recording as the thing continues to spark and flame up even as two people are hosing it down with flame retardant. Yes, because that is just the most awesome thing anyone has ever seen, right? There are times I really weep for the human race. First of all don’t get the wrong idea about hoverboards even if you’re against them to start with. They’re not programmed to explode while you’re riding them and the

The growing trend for film-makers to discuss their work with the audience after a screening is ruining the cinemagoing experience. Please make it stop!
There is a disease in the heart of cinema, and that disease is the Q&A. More cinemas are putting them on than ever, partly as a response to the rise of online streaming, in order to “add value” to their offering – and audiences are lapping it up. Q&As with directors and cast sell out in minutes to people consumed with a burning impulse to ask why there are no nice characters in the movie, or what it was like to film all those hot scenes. Why? Who would willingly put themselves through this hell? When will we wake from this nightmare?

This modern romantic comedy about stand-up comedians generates a genuine warmth about people, the ones-who-need-people kind. Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon’s comic dramatization of the way they became a couple is a big winner, with heart-tugging performances from Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan, and fine characterizations by Holly Hunter, Zenobia Shroff, Ray Romano, and Anupam Kher.

PC gaming is becoming even bigger than it ever has before, and the latest Vr technology is leading the way, so this should be an exciting event to watch right here on Cinelinx.
An interesting note to make is that Microsoft has moved away from the Monday time slot, which leaves this show open to have attention. With Microsoft focusing more on gamers via Windows, we could see a few surprises from the big console maker that pleases Xbox and PC fans. Though they are generally not a focus of this event. Instead Amd and Nvidia host the show with the latest graphics cards and technology to boost gaming, along with a few exclusive reveals for all fans.
With Vr being a big hit for high end PC's, we could see an expansion on that outlet. This might be the only event at E3 that highlights Vr technology.

Stop us if you've heard this one before: A group of criminals meet up for a gun deal. It goes bad – very bad. And the rest of the story, you ask? "Doesn't matter!" Martin Scorsese exclaims, laughing. We all knew Destiny 2 was coming, but we got an official poster now.
Earlier a poster leaked of Destiny 2 which hinted an announcement was incoming rather shortly. Well Bungie has made the game official with a real poster tease of the Destiny 2 logo.
The logo was revealed on the official Destiny Twitter page. Though this was most likely to keep pace with the leak earlier because nothing else has followed. We have no further details or trailers to show, or when we can expect to see them. E3 is still a few months away so this might be a little too early to say it is an E3 tease, so perhaps we will get more very soon instead.
Typically Activision shows off Call of Duty during April, but with slipping sales maybe Destiny has slid up to be revealed instead, or alongside the new Call of Duty.

Kristen Stewart's Saturday Night Live monologue was going so well… right until the very end!
The Personal Shopper star hosted SNL this weekend, which included a fun (albeit a bit nervous) opening monologue where some SNL castmates – Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant – tried to show Stewart that they were just as cool as she was by pretending to be stereotypical badasses.
"I'm too cool for school too, I don't even care about this show, "McKinnon said as she came out in tattered black clothes smoking a cigarette. "I don't even want to be on it, right? I just want to be like you, right? Sleep all day, party all night."
"Yeah, that's cool. That sounds cool," Stewart said, laughing. "I don't really do that, though. I worked on five movies last year."

For longtime Lrm readers, last night's announcement that Ben Affleck was stepping down as director of The Batman was anything but a surprise. Hell, this story goes back to when we were still simply Latino-Review!
It all started when we reported one of our infamous Hot Rumors on June 19, 2014. In that report, we shared with the world that we had confidential sources telling us that Affleck wasn't only signed up for acting duties when he signed on to join the Dceu (which was the big story at the time), we had it on good authority that he would also be directing a solo movie, and that it would be called The Batman. This was almost three years ago, when none of this was publicly known.

Phase Two is officially upon us folks. The Academy Awards are now only a month away, with nominations having been announced earlier this week. Now, we move into the abbreviated period where the guild awards come hot and heavy, more or less wrapping up what Oscar voters will likely do in February. As such, right before the final precursors begin chiming in, it seems only appropriate to do some new predictions. These won’t be evolving too much over the weeks to come, but it’s important to keep the flow going, to show you what changes come about, should they come about. Only some of the mystery has been solved, with more to be figured out. Below you will see my initial crack at trying to figure out what the Academy might do now that they have finished with Phase One and nominations. Basically, I’ve kept the status quo for now,...

It's kind of funny, considering what a resounding success the new Star Wars films have been, to think of all of the times things have shifted for the relaunched Lucasfilm series. If you follow the history of the films that have gone into production since Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, you'll see that the company has no problem moving things around.
While initial rumors for Star Wars: The Force Awakens found the film arriving in "Summer of 2015" since, historically, Star Wars has been a summer franchise, that movie ended up arriving in December of '15 after the studio threw out Michael Arndt's script and had J.J. Now, we have a new list full of screenplays that you can skim over, read how the writer envisioned the film, and then go see how the director interpreted it on the big screen. About the hour:
Collectors can be a weird bunch. Just ask any of us. Add love of films off the beaten path and you’ve got a concoction that can be hard to understand even by the most supportive in our lives. It doesn’t help that so much media treats collectors of all stripes as dangerous loners just out to get their latest widget for the secret collection behind the trap door in the basement. The sole purpose of this podcast is to try and right those wrong perceptions to those that will listen, but that doesn’t mean we can’t poke fun at ourselves a fair amount as well.

Opening monologues on “Saturday Night Live” usually aren’t much to write home about. Usually they just feature a celebrity doing a few goofy jokes or a song and dance routine before yelling “We have a great show for you tonight! is in the building! Stick around, we’ll be right back!” But Dave Chappelle is not your normal “SNL” host. In his first major TV appearance since ending “Chappelle’s Show” in 2006, Chappelle calmly strode out to the “SNL” stage as the crowd gave him a standing ovation. Instead of sporting the usual clip microphone, he came...

As far as episodes this season go, The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Episode 4 was a slower one full of narrative and filling in the blanks. I'm still developing my feelings on the episode and plan to just have a little catharsis here in my review, but first thing's first.
Seline Is An Evil Siren! I knew I was getting serious Nanny Carrie vibes from her, you guys! I Knew It.
I knew, I knew, I Knew there was something not right with Seline. She was too perfect, so something had to be wrong with her. That she is an evil psychic temptress cannibal I didn't exactly expect, but hey, my villain radar wasn't wrong.
What she needs or wants with the twins I still have no idea, but it's not just a coincidence Seline is nannying for the family intimately enmeshed with her capture and release from the Armory cave. She...

A few months ago we posted a video that broke down some of the actual stories behind many of Disney's popular animated films. You can watch that here in case you missed it. ScreenRant decided to keep the ball rolling on this subject, and they've released a second video for you to watch. This one includes films such as Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, and more. There's lots of great information included here for those of you who aren't familiar with the darkness of the stories that Disney likes to turn into kids films.
Despite being kids movies, Disney films have a reputation for including dark elements like the death of a parent or villains hiding behind a pretty face. But the original stories many Disney movies are based on are even darker and more gruesome than what makes it into the final animated feature.

Read More: The 2016 Indiewire Sundance Bible This week's episode of Screen Talk is presented by Awards Season Spotlight. Everyone know that the Sundance Film Festival is a marketplace for distributors, but this year's edition has been especially potent. From Amazon's $10 million deal for "Manchester By the Sea" to the record-breaking $17.5 million spent by Fox Searchlight for U.S. competition standout "The Birth of a Nation," much has been made about the sales in Park City this year. But what do these figures really tell us about the health of the industry? And where does this leave some of the smaller films? Screen Talk co-hosts Eric Kohn and Anne Thompson sat down at the Kickstarter Green Room on Main Street to discuss these questions and more with a live audience, following an introduction from Keri Putman, executive director of the Sundance Institute. Stick around for the end of the recording, when...

Cry Havoc #1 (Image): If you’ve ever read a comic by Simon Spurrier, you know basically what to expect: dissection of mythology and its meaning, sharp-tongued British colloqualisms, and a happy dash of absurdity. That said, Cry Havoc is different from his usual fare; it comes off as deadly serious, for one thing, and the jokes cracked are surrounded by intense monologues about the cannibalistic habits of hyenas and pre-emptive strike warfare. Heavy stuff for a werewolf book—except it’s not really a werewolf book in the traditional sense. There are no nighttime killing sprees, and Louise doesn’t wake up every morning with blood under her fingernails. This is partially because the story is told in three separate timelines and with three separate colorists for artist Ryan Kelly, whose attention to detail and paneling style makes Lou’s journey easy to follow despite its narrative complexity. Stick around...

For the longest time, I couldn't figure out what to make of "Billions," the new Showtime drama debuting Sunday at 10, starring Damian Lewis as a shady billionaire hedge fund trader and Paul Giamatti as the U.S. attorney looking to bring him down. It has two strong leading men (and did a nice job casting Malin Akerman and Maggie Siff as their respective spouses), and in Brian Koppelman and David Levien (who wrote "Rounders" together) and Andrew Ross Sorkin (who wrote "Too Big to Fail" and knows Wall Street as well as any reporter on the planet), it has a trio of creators who know how to write intimately about both the super-wealthy and gamblers, and the way that the former often have to act like the latter. "Billions" has all the bonafides. Yet as I watched one episode after another, I found myself wondering why I was meant to care about any of it.

This new comedy questions an old adage, since it ponders whether you truly cannot “go home again”. It further wonders if you can party “hearty” back at said home. Then you could put another spin on a saying by staggering and weaving down “the road not taken”. The protagonists of this film are not middle-aged “lost boys” usually played by the likes of Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen, and Adam Sandler. They flail about in flick after flick as stumbling, bumbling examples of the “man-child”, often with wives mortified at their antics. But what about flipping that comic trope? Can’t these farces feature a “women-child”, or two? Ladies regressing back to simpler times? Well, here’s two actresses that are more than ready for this challenge. Hard to believe that over seven years has passed since they were an on-screen team in Baby Mama. But happily they’ve been deflating...

Welcome back to This is Our Design. As the season (and possibly series) nears its end, we’re pulling out all the stops. This week, co-hosts Kate Kulzick and Sean Colletti are joined by Aaron Abrams of the Hannibal cast (and much more). While discussing “…And the Beast from the Sea,” the group gets into ideas of change, duality (Mr. Abrams makes an astute observation about the multiple versions of Brian Zeller), heroism, and the viewers’ complicated relationships with certain characters. Scott Thompson was also on the call, but since he had no lines in the episode, he chose not to respond to any of the questions, which is certainly his prerogative (Thompson was not actually on the call: sorry). Stick around for recurring segments, “Kate’s Classical Corner” and “The Devil in the Details,” as we pick apart as much as we can while we still have stuff to pick apart.

Welcome back to This is Our Design. This week, co-hosts Kate Kulzick and Sean Colletti are joined by father of Chucky and the Child’s Play series, Don Mancini. Finally, we get answers to the lack-of-subject idiosyncratic writing of Hannibal that we’ve been talking about for years. Now we know! But perhaps of more interest to listeners (perhaps), the crew talks about the beauty of the tiger scene and its implications for Francis Dolarhyde, parallels between the Will-Hannibal relationship and the Francis-Reba relationship, the wrapping up of Bedelia’s backstory with Hannibal and how Mr. Mancini found his way into the writing room for this season.
