Cute Wonderful World of Disney Movie
aclockworkbear19 September 2009
I was able to acquire this title through Disney rewards as the title is not a regular title. It is an episode from the Wonderful World of Disney that used to show on Television back in the 70's and 80's. Filmed in the early sixties, it has the great charm of the era. It's a sweet little story about a small dog that well gets separated from his owners and the various changes in his life.

These are one of those films that precursors Benji and has the feel of a true life adventure from the dogs point of view narrated throughout very cute, very simple perfect for children of all ages. One of those gems that Disney produced in a far off and different time period.

Personally, I find various things that are of interest, the story is very cute, the charm of the time period, and a simple happy ending.

Interesting story of animals in trouble...

What can I say? When you're up at 1:00 a.m. there's nothing quite like watching a good 'ol Walt Disney Presents on the Mouse Channel. What I thought was going to be another "Incredible Journey" in fact became quite amusing. This is a must watch for people interested in watching ducks being swallowed whole by catfish, dogs being thrown down several holes and caves, and odd men in baggy trousers retrieve their half-dead dogs.

I guess I wasn't alone when I watched this movie late one night on the Disney Channel. I see by the reviews here that it made a lasting impression on a few of us. I might have seen it when it was on originally. It was a ritual for our family to watch the Disney show on Sunday nights at my grandmothers place. And this was such a great surprise. I loved the story and the music and the photography. The dog actors were perfect. I recognized the story from the book Hurry Home Candy. But I also owned a book called Little Lost Dog with a Corgi in it. I think they just put the two together. And it works. The ending will make you grab a box of tissues. I wish Disney channel would start showing the old stuff again late at night. After finding this film, I became a regular late night Disney viewer. Disney should have enough stuff to have a Vintage Disney Channel.

A cute way to portray what might happen if a...(let's say)--

=dog might drown or need to climb up a hollowed out tree, or just to let you know that all catfish aren't always as nice as they seem. I gave it a 7 for the dogs cast in this had to go through horrendous circumstances for a movie that is showed on the Disney channel at 12:00 in the morning. YOU GO DOGS!! And i give kudos to the little girl who (though only had a small role) gave a magnificent cry when the cheetah tried to kill her. Also, it must be hard to work with animals, but the other actors did a beautiful job as well. If only it'd been up for an academy award, think where canines might stand in our communities. I think they should make a re-make of it. Maybe use the dog from Fraiser and the Air Bud one too. Then cast the Welch's Grape Juice girl and Jack Lemmon and we're in business! ~A movie for the millennium~

Heartfelt Review of the Hawk and The Hounds PLUS! Suggested viewing!!!

Did you watch a film involving the adventures (nay, misadventures?) of Nimrod, Yanni and Elsa? If so, you are not alone. We were stunned, touched, baffled and amused as we trailed these three till there lifeblood was done. George Bruns score was magnificent and we think that Roy deserves to shine just like Walt. He has earned it this time. If you find yourself some Friday evening, late, do not turn away. Accept it. Embrace it.

*If you like this film, try Davey Crocket: King of The Wild Frontier and Fight Club.
