Warning: Spoilers
After finding Russ Meyer's first (surviving) short film This Is My Body to surprisingly be much more enjoyable than most of the full features from Russ Meyer's "Nudie-Cutie" era,I decided to take a look at Meyer's second, and final, short film.

The plot:

Showing a cities skyline being changed by a number of skyscrapers being built,a woman is shown walking past a number of skyscrapers as she heads for a bra fitting in a local shop.As the woman starts to get fitted for the bra,it is revealed that she may have more in common with skyscrapers than it originally appears.

View on the film:

Running at 4 and a half minutes instead of the 10 listed on IMDb,writer/editor/cinematography and directing auteur Russ Meyer makes sure that every second count by shooting the film in a brightly lit appearance, that along with making the stunning Rochelle Kennedy bounce across the screen, also gives the skyscraper shots an oddly cartoon feel.

Giving the movie a real sense of colour,Meyer backs the brightly lit appearance with a wonderfully sarcastic British narration, which reveals the full height of Meyer's skyscrapers.

Underrated to say the least!

I really wish this was available as an extra on DVD as it is my all time favorite short. Russ Meyer had a great sense of humor and this file shows it well. If you ever get to see it , you will have spent 10 minutes in heaven.

Basically, it is shot silent and narrated with tongue firmly in cheek. It starts out with a busty (but saggy) woman walking along the street as the narrator talks about the engineering of skyscrapers. She spies a "while you wait" custom bra shop and goes in to get fitted. Needless to say, the fitter jiggles her breasts a lot more than necessary!

After putting on the bra, she walks out with her "bird dog" bra (the kind that makes pointers out of setters!!!).

I haven't seen this picture in 40 years and remember it as if it were yesterday (or maybe 20 years ago, anyway).

I wasn't aware of this Russ Meyer movie short. I won't describe it ... that's already been done here. But it's delightful. As an engineering student in the early 70s, there was a "paper" on the stresses on a strapless bra. The narration reminded me of that "paper" and my mechanics of solids class. It's a fun little film for anyone, but if you any background in engineering, it's even funnier.
