Actor Charlie Sheen played a few memorable roles in his career, one being the character Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn in the movie Major League. More than three decades after the film’s release Sheen is still being asked about that role and he’s more than happy to talk about it. However, he’s not keen on Major League II and described parts of the sequel as “unwatchable.”
Here’s more on that, plus Sheen’s thoughts on a Major League remake.

This June on HBO and HBO Max will play host to a new season of “Westworld,” a new adaptation of “Father of the Bride” and much more.
The big new Warner Bros. release on HBO and HBO Max this month is “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” which actually debuted on the HBO Max streaming service on May 30. The third film in the Wizarding World prequel franchise first hit theaters in April, and is now available to stream in 4K.
There’s also the updated version of “Father of the Bride” premiering on June 16, while a pair of noteworthy documentaries are coming on the early side this month: “The Janes” premieres June 8 and follows unlikely outlaws in pre-Roe v. Wade America who defied state legislation that banned abortion, while “Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain” debuts on June 9.

With its list of new releases for June 2022, HBO Max is joining in what should be a TV summer to remember.
Not content to let Netflix’s Stranger Things or Prime Video’s The Boys to dominate the summer TV landscape, HBO is coming through with a new season of one of its big hits. Westworld season 4 is set to premiere June 26 on both HBO and HBO Max. What will this season of the increasingly confusing sci-fi drama be about? Per HBO’s synopsis it will be “A dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.” So you know, only that.
Irma Vep is the only other Max Original of note this month. Based on a 1996 cult classic of the same name, this limited series stars Alicia Vikander as a disillusioned movie star looking to remake the early 20th century French silent film serial Les Vampires.

Bill & Ted, Addams Family Values, Wayne's World 2 - the 1990s wasn't short of good comedy sequels. It's just not enough people watched them.
In recent times, Hollywood has enjoyed going back into the 1990s to come up with belated sequels to previous hit movies. So, we finally got Dumb & Dumber 2, for instance, whilst a third Clerks, a second Mallrats, a new Sister Act and a Naked Gun reboot are being cooked up somewhere. Further belated sequels? Zoolander 2 finally arrives next year, and Anchorman 2 celebrates, quietly, its second birthday this Christmas.
It was only at the end of the 1990s that comedy sequels suddenly really took off. There were exceptions beforehand of course, but few things raise the eyebrows of Hollywood high brass than lots of cash. This, whilst the enormous box office takings of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me were in part down to an utterly inspired marketing campaign,...

The "Friday the 13th" franchise's crop of Final Girls are known for their keen survival instincts onscreen, but the careers of the actresses who played them? Not quite as impressive. When was the last time you heard the name "Amy Steel"? Dana Kimmell? Melanie Kinnaman? In celebration of Friday the 13th, here's our brief rundown of the post-"F13" careers of every Final Girl in the (original) franchise, from Adrienne King to Lexa Doig. "Friday the 13th" (1980) Adrienne King (Alice Hardy) After briefly reprising her role in the film's 1981 sequel, King became the victim of a stalker (the man ultimately pulled a gun on her). Shaken by the experience, she didn't return to acting until the 2010 low-budget horror/sci-fi film "Psychic Experiment." "Friday the 13th Part 2" (1981) Amy Steel (Ginny) Steel actually has two claims to fame in the horror genre, as she also starred in the 1986 pseudo-slasher "April Fool's Day.

"Oogieloves In the Big Balloon Adventure" secured its place in infamy over the weekend by scoring the worst ever debut on over 2,000 screens. The surreal children's film was an unmitigated disaster, taking in only $445,000 during its opening weekend, after spending $20 million on production and an enormous sum on an aggressive marketing campaign.
While "Oogieloves" claims the top spot on that dubious list, the rest of the top five have aspects to them that make their grand failures more fascinating than anything.
"Delgo"
The former champion, "Delgo," a computer-animated fantasy film, earned just over half a million dollars in 2008, when it opened on 2,160 screens, the exact same number as "Oogieloves." The story, which centers around vaguely reptilian creatures, is pretty typical fantasy fair with warring factions, a tough princess, and an unlikely hero, and the cast featured relatively well-known actors like Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Blood is on the ice within seconds in Goon, an absolutely brutal, painfully predictable comedy about a hockey bruiser with a heart of gold.
Seann William Scott plays the dim-witted Doug Glatt, a bouncer and simpleton who finds his calling as a hired thug on a Canadian minor league hockey team called the Halifax Highlanders. Doug can’t skate, but he can take and deliver a punch better than anyone else, so he watches out for his teammates — usually from the penalty box. (Naturally, Doug wears the number 69, a sexual reference that is still hi-larious in 2012.)
Doug is a surprisingly sweet guy, more Rocky Balboa than Homer Simpson, but he’s so thick-headed that his Neanderthal bits are more pathetic than funny, despite other characters openly laughing in his face when he tells a dopey story. His inability to form sentences makes for some cringe-inducing dialogue as part of his romantic subplot,...

Well, the actor addressed that very issue during Tuesday night's show in Cleveland and confirmed that 'Major League 3' is still very much part of his post-cbs plan. After a radio interview tour last week that launched countless tabloid headlines and forced the temporary cancellation of his CBS series “Two and a Half Men,” Charlie Sheen will continue his career implosion in an ABC in interview with Andrea Canning that will air during the network’s primetime series “20/20″ and daily on “Good Morning America.”
Sheen has become a regular fixture on celebrity outlets the past few weeks for his numerous arrests, brief hospitalization for “abdominal pains,” and short stints in rehab, but things got increasingly worse for the 45-year-old actor when he opened his big mouth to scumbag radio host Alex Jones on February 24.
In the epic audio, Sheen compares himself to Marlon Brandon’s character, Colonel Kurtz, in Apocalypse Now, takes several verbal swings as Chuck Lorre (creator of “Two and a Half Men”), articulates the phrase “Bible grippers,” rattles off something about “Vatican assassin warlocks,” and...

During the midst of a personal shame spiral that has included drunken, naked hotel rampages, asking porn stars to babysit, checking into rehab, and ultimately admitting that sobriety "bores" him, Charlie Sheen is going back to work on his TV show Two and Half Men and wants to get back on the big screen as well. Sheen told TMZ, otherwise known as the "Charlie Sheen News Network", that he is doing "everything in his power" to get a greenlight for another Major League sequel.

Charlie Sheen is set to star in a third 'Major League' movie. The troubled actor - who is currently receiving treatment at home for a drug addiction problem which led to a hiatus of his TV show 'Two and a Half Men' - has been asked to bring back 'Wild Thing' Rick Vaughn for a third movie in the sport comedy series. Director David S. Ward has confirmed a story is in place for the comedy movie, which would be a follow-up to 1994's 'Major League II'. He said: "It's 20 years later and Charlie's character has been out of baseball since he gave up the walk-off homerun in the seventh game of the World Series. "But the team wants him back to mentor this young fireballing relief pitcher." David confirms the 45-year-old star is "interested" in the role and production could get underway soon. With Charlie Sheen in and out of the media for this or that, it's tough not to hear talk about one of his more popular franchises, Major League. And Sheen, now that he's out of rehab (again) and back to work, has said he's very interested in Major League 3, and is just waiting for the greenlight. There's even a plot. What's that, you ask? Isn't there already a Major League 3, called Major League: Back to the Minors?...

Late footballing genius George Best once observed, “I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.” Well, in an era and an industry in which one can be paid so much for so little it’s almost impossible to spend all the money, the party never really stops. Or, at least, this is how it seems to be for Charlie Sheen, who at times is reputed to have sustained the economies of several small South American countries and is listed among the “hobbies” of several leading porn stars.
But years before Sheen was paid over a million dollars a week for playing a family friendly version of himself in the TV series Two and a Half Men, he was a charismatic and versatile actor on the big screen in films like Platoon, Wall Street and Major League. And it is the latter...

Before the media started only focus on his Everest-sized mountains of coke and his habit of collecting porn stars in hotel rooms, Charlie Sheen was known as an actor. More importantly, before being stuck on the humorless black hole known as Two and a Half Men, Sheen was a movie actor, making great films like Platoon, Wall Street and Eight Men Out. His most popular character, however, was Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn, the out-of-control pitcher from Major League. But while the first film is a sports movie classic, Major League II and Major League: Back To The Minors aren't worth the film that they are printed on (Sheen wasn't in the third film, but it needs to be said). Still everyone loves "Wild Thing" and perhaps it could be the project that brings Sheen back to respectability. The actor recently spoke on TMZ Live where he revealed that he is...

When the comedy Major League was released in 1989, little did we know how perfectly Charlie Sheen would personify the Wild Thing moniker he portrayed in film. He was crazy at the time, but in recent years Sheen has been better known for coke, hookers, million dollar paychecks and Jon Crier than making movies. Still, the Wild Thing has been our reality for years and, in an interview with TMZ, Sheen said he's doing "everything in his power" to once again make our heart sing on the big screen. If the powers that be greenlight a script, Sheen wants to make another Major League movie. Read more details after the break. TMZ first broke the news [1] of Sheen's desire to make the film, though the rumor has been circulating since 2009 [2]. Charlie Sheen’s recent troubles are well documented and it seems that he is keen to put as much as possible of it behind him by returning to a comedy role from earlier, less complicated times. For the unitiated, Major League told the tale of a hapless Cleveland Indians baseball team and their desperate quest to turn around their season and finish with a winning record. It starred Sheen, Tom Berenger, Wesley Snipes, Corbin Bernsen and Rene Russo and for my money, was hugely enjoyable.
Major League 2 and Major League: Back to the Minors followed, though Sheen seems to feel that the threequel should be disregarded and any new film be treated as a true “Major League 3″. His exact words were apparently that Back to the Minors was “an abortion” and shouldn’t be considered as an official franchise entry. Not mincing his words there then.

Charlie Sheen is eager to reprise the role of Ricky 'Wild Thing" Vaughn in the "Major League" franchise reports TMZ.
The troubled star is reportedly keen on doing another sequel to the 1989 comedy and would do a new version if a script were green lit. Sheen insists this will be "Major League 3", technically "Major League: Back to the Minors" is the third film in the series but the "Two and Half Men" actor calls it "an abortion" and doesn't believe it should be counted with the rest of the series.
Sheen screened the original film during a baseball All-Star party at his house over the weekend and tells the site he's doing everything in his power to get a "Major League 3" movie on the big screen.

We've been hearing about another "Major League" movie for a while. And now, Charlie Sheen has revealed to TMZ that he's very interested in another installment and is just waiting for the studio to greenlight the picture. The actor kept referring to the new film as "Major League 3," completely ignoring "Major League: Back to the Minors," which was the third installment. Sheen knows of the film, but considers it an "abortion" and doesn't think it should be part of the series. Back in July, "Major League" director David S. Ward spoke about the new movie. "It's 20 years later, and Wild Thing comes out of retirement to work with this 19-year-old player," he explained. "We've actually got three new characters in the new film. And if the new film is popular, they could carry the franchise on."...

In between Charlie Sheen's wild schedule of, well, everything your mom ever told you not to do and more-- he's decided to resurrect his movie career. Charlie Sheen told TMZ (yeah, no surprise) that he's doing everything in his power to get a new Major League off the ground. Yes, I'm well aware that they are already in the process of trying to get another Major League off the ground. Here's the thing though, Sheen feels that the third film (Major League: Back To The Minors) is a...

Ben Stiller and Barbra Streisand in Little Fockers.Today, the Focker trilogy is, at last, complete. Who would have guessed that a mildly amusing film called Meet the Parents would spawn not one but two sequels over the following 10 years? Well, probably not anybody. The plot of this, the third installment, centers on Greg and Pam Focker (Ben Stiller and Teri Polo), who are now the proud parents of fraternal twins—hence the clever title. Is Little Fockers a fun seasonal holiday film? Does Little Fockers live up to the good name of the Focker franchise? As a service, we answer every question that you could possibly have about Little Fockers. Q: Is Little Fockers the worst film of the Fockers Trilogy? A: Little Fockers is the worst film of any trilogy to appear in a movie theater. Worse than Look Who’s Talking Now, Major League: Back to the Minors,...

It was almost a year ago when we last heard anything regarding the proposed Fourth film in the Major League franchise. At the time, Bob Uecker (who played commentator Harry Doyle in the original 1989 film) revealed he’s had contact from the creative team behind the first three Major League films, and that they were developing a Major League 4.
The original Major League was about a underdog baseball team, the Cleveland Indians, which become a World Series contender much to the surprise of their manager, who was betting on their failure, that was followed by a direct sequel. The last film in the series, Major League: Back to the Minors, followed Gus (Scott Bakula) as he became the manager for a minor league team.
Whilst no one would think that any of the original cast would possibly return for Major League 4, Moviehole talked with Major League writer/director David S. Ward...

It has been a busy few days for baseball movie news. The other day, we reported Bradley Cooper will star in an untitled Disney baseball flick. Now, it looks like the gang from the original Major League will be back for one more shot at the big leagues. Moviehole is reporting that the original director David S. Ward is in talks with Morgan Creek to bring the fourth installment of this franchise to life.
The third film, Major League: Back to the Minors was a predictable flop, and only saw a handful of the original, loveable cast members, namely Pedro Ceranno’s character (Dennis Haysbert). This project appears to be focused more on the original characters:
“It’s 20 years later, and Wild Thing comes out of retirement to work with this 19-year-old player”, Ward says of the storyline. “We’ve actually got three new characters in the new film. And...

Most baseball fans probably associate the song .Wild Thing. with the bespectacled, flame-throwing, cut-off sleeve sporting, ex-con, relief pitcher Rickey .Wild Thing. Vaughn. Though Vaughn is just a movie character, an iconic role played by Charlie Sheen, he might just be the most recognizable Cleveland Indian ever. Oh those poor Indians. Last time we saw Vaughn he was coming out of the bullpen to clinch the pennant in Major League 2 (the last movie in that franchise as I refuse to acknowledge Major League: Back to the Minors). Now, according to Moviehole, Charlie Sheen could reprise the role in an upcoming Major League movie. Major League writer and director David S. Ward has confirmed that he.s spoken with Sheen about bringing the skull glasses back out for the already-written movie. A much older Rickey Vaughn would come out of retirement to mentor a younger player just reaching the majors. No...
