Mrs. Lamino (Charlita ) brings her injured son Alveros (Anthony Numkena ) to Carl Fisher's pharmacy to treat his wounds. Carl (Onslow Stevens) and his father (Forrest Taylor) are appalled to hear that young Alveros was a victim of a hate crime. Mr. Fisher is so distressed that he writes a letter to the editor of the local paper (Sam Flint). As it turns out, Carl's son Freddie (David Kasday) was a witness to the crime...and, eventually, names the assailants. The newspaper editor assigns reporter Joe Turner (John Ridgely) to cover the story, however, he is hesitant to do so, because Joe feels that the problem with this county is foreigners. Joe's attitude changes when he learns that the Lamino's are American born, and that the late Mr. Lamino gave his life valiantly during the war and was the recipient of the Congressional medal of honor. When Joe discovers that his own son Bill (B.G. Norman) was one of the assailants, Joe become painfully aware that the whole situation was started by his own prejudice.
