Felix heads west and is, once again, a bit of a jerk
planktonrules23 September 2013
Once again, Felix the Cat is up to strange and surrealistic adventures in "Felix Goes West". And, like he is in quite a few of his early films, he is a bit of a jerk!

The cartoon begins with Felix, once again, hungry. So, he does what he normally does--he tries to steal some food! When that doesn't work, he decides he needs a change of scenery and heads west. Once there, however, he makes a serious nuisance of himself and soon practically everyone hates him--including a bear, a Mexican vaquero and an Indian tribe!

Felix was a great character in his early cartoons. He didn't particularly fit into the perfect hero image and the cartoons were just plain weird. It's no wonder he was the biggest cartoon star for a while--and it was only after writers forgot what made him famous did the cartoons fade in quality and popularity. Well worth seeing.
