The attic always has a special fascination for children, particularly Lennie and Daphne, who find it an ideal playroom both for themselves and their friends. Mrs. Grove isn't so enthusiastic, however, especially when the playing involves fireworks, abominable snowmen, breaking-up noises, and, even more unnerving, several extra appetites to cater for at mealtimes. But most children are the same at heart, even if some mothers choose to think otherwise.
