"Das Wunder" or "Das Wunder. Ein Film in Farben" is a German silent short film from 1922, so just 5 more years until this one has its 5th anniversary and the maker here is Walter Ruttmann, one of Germany's most influential filmmakers from the first half of the 20th century. This early career effort by him just runs for three minutes and at the very end we find out this is actually a liqueur commercials, which explains the two men (heads) before that and how they are angry initially but smile after having a drink. This is the kind of film that may make you smile once or twice, but other than that it won't have a great impact. It is difficult to compare the animation here to American animation from the early 1920s because styles and ideas were so different. Final note: The alternative title says this is in color and so was the version I watched, but according to IMDb the original is in black-and-white, so there are apparently different versions out there. If you enjoy the state that you have access to both, it is up to you to decide which one to watch. Or just skip it altogether, it really wasn't that good. I give "The Miracle" a thumbs-down.
