Akalmand
coltras3529 November 2021
Tamil-speaking Priya and Punjabi-speaking Dr. Kiran meet and fall in love with each other, and get married. Kiran likes to drink and likes the company of women, Priya is aware of this and always suspects him of having an affair. When Shobha decides to go for a vacation to her parents' house, Kiran meets with a dancer/singer, Lulu, spends the night with her, and wakes up next morning to find her dead body. Fearing that the Police will arrest him, and his wife will leave him, he disposes off the body off of a bridge into a river, and returns home to try and lead a normal life. When the Police find Lulu's body, they discover that she had taken a taxi to Kiran's house on the night of her death. It looks like Kiran may have to face the consequences of being arrested and his wife leaving him.

Akalmand is a romantic comedy that transmutes into a mystery-suspense thriller midway, which doesn't slacken in keeping you engrossed, however the plot can be a bit convoluting and confusing.

Sridevi as the ultra-jealous Marathi wife of Jeetendra really steals the scene and so does Kadar khan, who is an eccentric villain with long hair and bald Pate. His acting and comic dialogue delivery are spot on - Jeetendra, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Ashok Kumar and Sarika all do well, and what you end up with serviceable entertainer.

Romantic comedy

It is another team repeating after the success of Himmatwala, Jeetendra Sri Devi, Kadar Khan & Shakti Kapoor, but this time it is Romantic suspense comedy, Kadar Khan & Shakti Kapoor failed to attract, the highlight of this movie is Jeetendra & his way of acting CHED CHAD with Sri Devi, Ashok Kumar role is also funny Sri Devi too good & beautiful in her own south Indian style, I like the songs MERI BIWI MAIKE CHALI GAYI, & I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU both the songs shown the unique style of Jeetendra dance steps & added humour, most fun watching songs I ever enjoyed, little suspense is also there murder mystery of Aruna Irani. If you want to see the series of South Indian Director who makes Hindi movies in 1980's this is that kind of movie, Jeetu didn't wear wigs & moustache, He is in his original looks that's why he looks handsome & energetic too.
