I remember seeing "Space Armageddon" (international title), alongside a similar Anime movie, "Lensman", back on the local cartoon channel back in the 1980's. And like Lensman, it was another Animated movie that combined CG with hand-drawn animation.
But the most unique thing about "Space Armageddon" is the combination of Science Fiction, Greek and Norse Mythology, dealing with robots, hallucinations, space deities, crazed assasins and the combination of space aliens and mythical monsters.
Then one fateful day, I heard from a friend of mine that he saw this movie americanized and renamed just plain "Armageddon" (duh! How un-original). I took a gander at it myself, and boy, was I enraged. Sub-par dubbing, plot changes and *gasps* POOR EDITING! Shame on you Manga Video, have you no sense of decency!?
Anywho, if you come across this film, get it at an Asian or Import video store, unabridged and uncut. AVOID the Manga Video version at all costs.
