The chief fault with this production is that it contains an example of crime that could be easily put in practice, and in fact has been put in practice before, from the viewing of such a picture, ending with deadly and horrible results. We refer to the placing of a gun in a vice with the trigger and the closed door of the house connected by a string in such a way that the first one to open the door is confronted with the awful realization of having discharged the gun, killing the victim of the crime, who has previously been tied to a chair not far from the muzzle of the gun. Otherwise the production is intensely interesting and well produced. - The Moving Picture World, June 5, 1915
