Gordon Ramsay's children do not live the lavish lifestyle one would expect when your father is a famous chef.
In an interview with The Telegraph, the 50-year-old restaurateur reveals that he's deliberately not leaving his fortune to his four kids -- Holly, Matilda, Megan and Jack. “It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them,” he explains. “The only thing I’ve agreed with Tana is they get a 25% deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat."

Remember Escape Plan? Mikael Håfström‘s thriller starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. No? We don’t blame you. It didn’t do a whole lot at the box office – domestically, at least – and failed to impress critics. It did, however, make $100 million overseas, and you know what that means, don’t you? Sequel.
Yup, that’s right, Escape Plan 2 is now gearing up for production and Stallone will be back again as Ray Breslin. Arnie’s sitting out this time, though, and in his place will be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2‘s Dave Bautista. That’s according to THR, who tell us that the actor will team up with the Rocky star in the film to plot another, you guessed it, prison escape.

As a lifelong fan of the original Creepshow—one of the first R-rated horror movies I ever saw as a kid and still my favorite horror anthology of all-time—it has taken me years to come to terms with the fact that Creepshow 2 is not bad. In fact, it’s quite good at times. But because it failed to capture the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of the first film (I mean, you had George A. Romero, Stephen King, and Tom Savini all working at their peaks), I have always ignored the fact that there’s a lot to like in Creepshow 2, even if it does fall short of its predecessor’s greatness. Thankfully, Arrow’s new special edition Blu-ray helped put me in my place.
Based on three more stories by King, Creepshow 2 finds original director Romero trading in the director’s chair for screenwriting duties. Calling the shots...

With its endearing story, loveable characters and, crucially, $1 billion box office haul, Zootopia is a difficult act to follow.
Yes, the mere fact that Byron Howard and Rich Moore’s animated crowd-pleaser has cemented its place in the history books, becoming the second highest-grossing original film of all time behind only Avatar, ensures that 2016 will stand as an overly successful year for the Powers That Be over at Disney Animation.
But The House of Mouse is nurturing another animated adventure ahead of its theatrical bow in November. Its name? Moana. It’s a coming-of-age tale that revolves around Auli’i Cravalho’s wide-eyed newcomer and her quest across the ocean to pinpoint a mystical island. Teaming with Dwayne Johnson’s larger-than-life demi-god, Moana boasts all the qualities of a family-friendly Disney yarn, including an adorable shot of Cravalho’s heroine as a youngster.

We don’t need “a Jeff Nichols of our own” to tell the stories of race and racism in Britain on film (Review: Heartfelt but reticent portrait of defiance against racism, 17 May). We have Amma Asante, director of Belle and A United Kingdom, both of which, like Jeff Nichols’ film Loving, are historical dramas centred on high-profile mixed-race relationships and their dramatic consequences. In the month when three reports, from Calling the Shots, Directors UK, and European Women’s Audiovisual network, have drawn attention to the stark gender and racial inequality in British film-making, Peter Bradshaw misses a chance to draw attention to a trailblazing director already brilliantly at work. As Melissa Silverstein says, #SeeHerNow.

Calling the Shots: women and contemporary film culture in the UK analysed the numbers of directors, writers, producers, executive producers, cinematographers and editors, and concluded that the “vast majority of key production personnel in the UK film industry are still men”.
Furthermore, the report states that of those women, only 7% were Bame (Black, Asian and minority ethnic), making Bame women less than 1.5% of all key personnel on UK film productions last year.
Of the roles analysed, women were best represented as producers (27%), while only 7% of all cinematographer were women, none of whom were Bame.

Steven Soderbergh’s cinematically shot hospital show The Knick makes you glad you weren’t alive and in need of medical care during the early 20th century. The surgeons operating at New York City’s cash-strapped Knickerbocker Hospital perform primitive, often experimental procedures in less-than-sanitary conditions on mostly penniless patients. They go under the knife of a genius, drug-addled doc, a brilliant black surgeon doing his best work in a dirty basement, and a naïve nurse willing to shoot cocaine into a surgeon’s penis to get him up for an emergency. Scrub in for our restorative overview ahead of the Friday night return of the compelling Cinemax drama. There’s a visionary junkie surgeon … Calling the shots in the Knick house of horrors is chief surgeon and mad scientist John “Thack” Thackery, the hospital’s resident cocaine (and opium) addict. The story behind Dan Rather’s ruined reputation following his report on George W. Bush’s dodginess during Vietnam is heading to the big screen. That logline alone is enough to warrant a starry line-up, due to its heavy-hitting nature. Plus, who doesn’t love a juicy scandal? With principal photography set to begin next week on Truth, another big name has joined the cast.
The news comes via Deadline, whose sources reveal that Dennis Quaid has signed on to appear as Colonel Roger Charles. He’ll be starring alongside Robert Redford who’s snagged the role of iconic newscaster, Rather; and Cate Blanchett who’s tackling the part of 60 Minutes producer, Mary Mapes. Charles was a key figure in the drama, which saw all three embroiled in a plot to uncover Bush’s deserter tactics:
Charles served two tours in Vietnam, then in the Pentagon before becoming a liaison working with 60 Minutes II.

There’s certainly been a lot of water under the bridge since we last heard any news about Calibre Media’s Bone Tomahawk. The violent yarn has been in development for a long while, with Timothy Olyphant and Peter Sarsgaard attached to star at one point. Back in October 2012, Kurt Russell joined the flick, along with Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter. Since then, talk on the film has been largely silent. Things are picking back up for the western again, however, as Insidious star Patrick Wilson and Lost alum Matthew Fox have joined the project.
The pair will join the previously-announced Russell, as Sheriff Franklin Hunt, and Richard Jenkins (The Visitor, Six Feet Under) as a man named Chicory. No news on whether Carpenter will return, however.

Directors UK (Duk) is challenging broadcasters and producers to ensure that 30% of all shows are directed by women by 2017, after a major study found significant inequality in key genres, from crime drama to panel shows.
Duk unveiled Who’s Calling The Shots? Women Directors In British Television this week, which analyses a decade’s worth of British TV (2003-2012) and reveals that women are getting increasingly fewer opportunities in drama, entertainment and comedy in particular.
It wants the industry to reflect its own membership, some 27% of whom – 1,418 members – are female. Women directed 22.7% of the total episodes of the 142 returning series studied by Duk, and the results are very mixed.
Setting the threshold
Of those series, 41 have had no female directors at all, including ITV dramas Vera and Monroe; comedies PhoneShop and Mrs Brown’s Boys; and entertainment shows Qi, Celebrity Juice and The Cube.
Just over a third – 53 series – passed Duk’s suggested threshold between 2003 and 2012, and...

Fox has released three TV spots and a clip from 24: Live Another Day. The series premiers on May 5th, which is this coming Monday! I can't believe it's almost here. I love this franchise, and I'm excited about seeing Kiefer Sutherland back as Jack Bauer. I really hope that this is just the beginning, and that we will get even more seasons of the show, and possibly a movie.
The high-octane saga reunites the Emmy Award-winning team of executive producer Howard Gordon; star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland; co-creator Robert Cochran; executive producers, Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury, Brian Grazer and director Jon Cassar. It also will retain the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and interweaving storylines. Set and shot in London, the suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic agent Jack Bauer.

With the action now set in London, Jack’s main goal in 24: Live Another Day appears to be saving the President and avoiding a World War, all while attempting to clear his name.

“I’m Back, Dammit!” Those three words feature heavily on the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly as Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer makes his explosive return in 12-episode event series 24: Live Another Day after being off the small screen for four years.
Talking to the site, the actor had this to say about returning to the role of the iconic former CTU Agent after such a long time: “It was very stressful, making the choice to come back,” he revealed. “That sense of responsibility to the show has not dissipated at all. When we started out, I said to [director Jon Cassar] to watch me like a hawk. If there was something that wasn’t feeling right, don’t wait to see if it works its way out. I was very scared I couldn’t remember Jack. It had been awhile.”
Also below is a new featurette focusing on the return of...

"There's no going back for me."
Fox has released an awesome full trailer for their highly anticipated 24: Live Another Day limited series, which sees Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Ryan trying to save the day…. again. Only this time he's doing it in London. I'm still so happy that 24 is back! This next series looks like it's going to be incredible.

24 fans have been waiting patiently for Jack Bauer’s story to be continued ever since season eight wrapped up way back in 2010, and that wait is now almost over with the upcoming 24: Live Another Day, a 12-episode limited series which picks up four years after the former CTU Agent went on the run.
The preview labels Jack Bauer as, “Fugitive, Soldier, Hero” and it should be very interesting to see which of these roles he spends most of the time filling as the action comes to London.
The trailer also offers up a look at many of the new and returning cast members. Are you looking forward to 24: Live Another Day? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!

Getting people psyched up for the new 24 series, 24: Live Another Day, may strike many people as something along the lines of Coke commercials. At this point, are you really selling to anyone? We all know whether or not we’re interested in Coke.
Still, despite the idea that pulling in the completely uninitiated may be a questionable pursuit, Fox is pretty clear on the idea that it wants to make sure it doesn’t miss anyone. The new teaser doesn’t exactly give you a lot to go on, perhaps in a way similar to the idea that Coke commercials don’t exactly explain the product. But, it does at least give you the impression that it may pull off the difficult and dangerous attempt of standing next to the previous entries. I’m not absolutely convinced that this is a game we can keep playing, but the trailer looks good.

Jack is back and he's ready to kick some more ass to save the world! Fox has released an exciting new trailer for his next great adventure in 24: Live Another Day, and it looks like it's going to be an incredible series. You can't go wrong with 12 episodes of Kiefer Sutherland being a badass.

Jack is back! We saw some intriguing teasers during this year’s Super Bowl and a new batch of stills just a few days ago, but Fox have now released a trailer with actual footage from 24: Live Another Day. The majority of the series was shot in London, and it quickly becomes clear that the city and its landmarks will form an important backdrop to proceedings.
Branded a psychopath and traitor, it’s obvious that Jack is still on the run in this follow-up to season eight’s cliffhanger, while his very ominous, “There’s no going for me” line and the that fact he’s trying to avert a world war serve as proof that this season of 24 may just have the highest stakes yet for the former CTU Agent.

Fox has released ten new photos from Keifer Sutherland's 24: Live Another Day limited series, which is set to air on May 5th. The series also stars Giles Matthey, Yvonne Strahovski as Kate Morgan, Kim Raver as Audrey Raines, Benjamin Bratt as Steve Harris, and Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe. I'm so excited for the return of this series, and I have no doubt it's going to kick ass.

Thanks to EW we have our first official photo from the highly anticipated return of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer in 24: Live Another Day. The photo also features his trusty partner, Chloe, played by Mary Lynn Rajskub, and it looks like they are running away from some kind of fire or explosion, which is typical for these two. Rajskkub offers up a little bit of information on her character's change and style, saying that she joined some WikiLeaks-type organization in London.

Another exciting casting for Fox’s 24 reboot Live Another Day: Michelle Fairley is joining the show in a major villainous role.
She’ll play Margo, the British widow of a notorious terrorist. This is a role that was previously filled by actress Judy Davis, who had to exit the production due for personal reasons.
Fairley is best known for HBO’s fantasy hit Game of Thrones where she played Catelyn Stark for three seasons. Last year, she had a recurring role on USA’s Suits.

Here's a series of teasers for Fox's upcoming series, 24: Live Another Day, which will see the return of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer and Mary Lynn Rajskub as a badass-looking Chloe O'Brian. "The harrowing day will have Jack attempting to thwart an unthinkable terrorist attack that could change the world forever." I love this show, and I couldn't be happier that Jack will be back for another adventure! The "Street Chaos" teaser is definitely the best one.

British Film Institute (BFI) allocates 900 places for 16-19 year olds to join BFI Film Academies.
The BFI has brought its Film Academy back for a second year and will offer almost twice as many young people the opportunity to develop skills for a career in film.
Covering the 2013/14 school year, it will extend its reach across the UK into Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales offering a total of 900 places across all courses – up from just under 500 in 2012 - working with 35 partners such as film training organisations and universities (see below for full list).
The BFI Film Academy scheme will also expand to include new residential courses in animation, documentary, screenwriting and VFX, and has appointed five organisations to lead these during half-term times.
It will again team with the National Film and Television School (Nfts), which recently became the first to win all three Cilect awards for the world’s best student films.

Hitting theaters today is one of my favorite comedies of the year, For A Good Time, Call…, starring Ari Graynor and co-writer Lauren Anne Miller as two girls forced to live together in an apartment in New York that couldn’t be further apart in personality. As the story unfolds we begin to root for these two girls to set aside their differences and realize how much they can give to one another while they begin to operate a phone sex line out of the apartment.
Sweet, raunchy, and a whole lot of fun, director Jamie Travis makes an impressive feature debut and I was able to sit down with him a few weeks ago to discuss his feature debut. We talked about his favorite prop in the film, the odd meta-reality going on and how he dealt with having more than just himself and the editor in the editing room.

Penny Marshall deems the recent death of Whitney Houston a "very sad" loss.
"She was a great girl, and we got along fine," the television star turned movie director tells Zap2it about guiding the singer-actress through the 1996 musical drama "The Preacher's Wife" opposite Denzel Washington. "She sang beautifully, but like a baseball player doesn't pitch every day, you had to schedule certain things at certain times. You have to take the actors into consideration."
Marshall also took the use of Houston's vocal talents seriously: "I went to her mom's church in Newark [N.J.] and I went to Denzel's church out here [in Los Angeles], and we auditioned choirs. I had never done anything with music of the current time, because most of the movies I did were period pictures. 'Awakenings' was, certainly 'A League of Their Own' was, and so was 'Riding in Cars With Boys.'"

Arnie Hammer Is Calling The Shots In The Lone Ranger
Armie Hammer is one of those few actors whose career has truly gone from unknown extra to rising star. But after his major role in The Social Network, Armie Hammer is quickly ascending the Hollywood ladder to become an A-list actor. First cast as the love of Leonardo Di Caprio's life in Clint Eastwood‘s J.Edgar, Hammer then grabbed the role of the prince in Tarsem Singh's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White opposite Julia Roberts and Lily Collins. Good news, Jack Bauer fans: the clock is very much still ticking.
"24" enthusiasts have been waiting on the edge of their seats waiting for the Kiefer Sutherland-starring real-time thriller to make its much heralded debut on the big-screen, and now, we've got a time table courtesy of producer Brian Grazer. "Got off the phone Keifer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the 24 movie for next year," Grazer informed his Twitter followers, indicating that the "24" movie is very much on track.
But despite Grazer's assurances, there are several questions we don't know the answer to — like the ones we're asking about past the jump!
The Time Table
Both Kiefer and Grazer are on the record saying that the "24" movie is happening next year, but what exactly does that mean? Will shooting start in 2012 with a release date some time in 2013, or are they actually aiming for release in 2012? If that's the target,...

Assembled for broadcast on Japanese television by Nhk, Kaidan Horror Classics is a series of four adaptations of famous macabre short stories by high profile Japanese directors. And it's an interesting selection of talent, to say the least. Calling the shots on the series are Hula Girls director Sang-Il Lee, Infection's Masayuki Ochiai, Nobody Knows helmer Hirokazu Kore-Eda, and Tetsuo: The Iron Man's Shinya Tsukamoto.
For a full breakdown of the four films I recommend heading over to the Toronto J-Film Pow-Wow, who have posted a full review, but for a quick taste we've got the trailer below.

George A. Romero is a horror legend thanks to his many zombie films, including the grandaddy of them all, Night of the Living Dead (1968). Several of his other features, however, have gone egregiously overlooked -- at least to the mainstream public -- including The Crazies (1973), Martin (1977), and Knightriders (1981). They're not perfect by any means, and they all suffer visibly from shoestring budgets, but there are bits of brilliance in each of the three. So it's no surprise that someone saw fit to remake/reimagine/reboot The Crazies (2010), and to do so with a sizable budget and a strong cast.
