Lily-livered attempt at rough porn
lor_17 June 2015
Tara Cheung strikes out twice starring for director Joe Davian in this film and a similar loser PREY OF A CALL GIRL. The not-so-attractive actress is hell-bent for revenge after the death of her sister, but BDSM specialist Davian pulls his punches and wastes the viewer's time.

Apparently novelty was the excuse for these hour-long grinders made by Davian, Shaun Costello, Richard Mailer and later the maestro of the format Phil Prince. I would not classify them under Eroticism but rather Shock Value as the genre, kindred though XXX in spirit to horror movies.

What shocked me was how tame and lame are the punishments enacted by Cheung, who pretty much has a great time having sex with all her adversaries rather than mistreating them. Her sister had an affair with evil Senator Jordan (Jake Teague, unrecognizable with hair), resulting in an abortion from a bad doctor, so they're marked for revenge.

The only guy who really gets corporal punishment to delight the fans of this junk is the Senator's son - clearly collateral damage, but Cheung gets a kick out of whipping him with cat o' nine tails and riding crop, dominating and humiliating the boy. She's unimpressive as a dom, better suited to the movie's ration of regular sex.

Low point has to be a lengthy gynecological exam on Cheung by quack doctor Roger Caine, who overacts miserably (he's usually a solid performer). The closeups of her private parts spread wide fall directly into shock-value territory, and a lengthy sequence of him applying a double dong dildo to d.p. her is merely boring.

Femme cast is unappealing throughout and the supposed twists of the storyline fail to materialize. Despite its provocative title, Cheung's comeuppance for the senator is truly measly: she enlists shutterbug Dave Ruby to take incriminating photos of Teague and then hands him a newspaper proclaiming him the butt of scandal. She suggests he commit suicide -THE END. If that's Davian's concept of punishment, he should have given up directing S&M movies and gone into the aluminum siding business.

Strictly cinema for slobs, and without the necessary impact to prevent an audience from falling asleep -perhaps the cardinal sin for a Shockmeister. Had William Castle ever gone XXX he would not have approved.
