Quite unbelievable

I happened to catch this and within 30 seconds was completely hooked. Russell Grant has always put his name to pointless, tacky programmes, but this one tops the lot and I needed to find out just how pointless, tacky and amateurish it was.

And it didn't disappoint.

Directed by the rotund man himself, it is by far the worst example of television I have ever seen. No part of it is done correctly. It is not interesting or entertaining; the sound was shockingly bad; the camera work was done, without doubt, by an amateur and the editing (what little there was of it) was probably done by Russell on his home computer. This would not even have a place on YouTube, let alone Channel 5.

What is most shocking, perhaps, is that Channel 5 have dug it out again seven years later and are repeating them.

A wonderful historical guide around the British Isles and Europe

There is something magical about Russell Grant. He is not only the most famous astrologer in the world, being the British Astrologer Royal, but his easy-going fun-loving ways has made him a hit with TV audiences both in Britain and the States.

He recently took time off to care for his grandmother who had Alzheimer's Disease and has come roaring back in style, as the main celebrity on Celebrity Fit Club.

But I deter: Russell's Postcards are brilliant. They are little cameos on a place or landmark that most people have probably wondered about and Grant comes along and with passion and enthusiasm tells the viewer about it. The series has been a huge hit mainly because it was history on the hoof, charismatic Grant moseys into town and without knowing a thing finds out and reveals all.

Futuristic TV, it's time that producers now found vehicles to use Grant whose following stretches from generations 9 to 90! Diana
