Typical Shaw melodrama
Leofwine_draca3 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
THE PRICE OF LOVE is a typical melodramatic effort from Shaw Brothers, in which the course of true love certainly doesn't run very smoothly. The hero and heroine seem beset by misfortune and tragedy which all plays out in the usual painstaking detail. Themes include family conflict, class issues, physical imperfection and of course characters dealing with death and other tragedy.
