In a move that really shouldn't surprise anyone, the Megaplex Theaters chain, which is owned by the highly conservative Larry Miller, owner of the Utah Jazz and dozens of auto dealerships across the country, will not show Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri Make a Porno when it is released this Friday.
The chain's spokesman, Cal Gunderson, tells Page Six, that it's just too raunchy for its audiences in Salt Lake City, Ogden, Lehi, and Sandy, Utah. "We feel it's very close to an Nc-17 with its graphic nudity and graphic sex," says Megaplex's Cal Gunderson. When asked why the same chain is showing Saw V, Gunderson replied, "No comment."
