It's about his mission to stop the EVIL DARK DEMON! Well and his minions also and it's kinda hard but it's easy with save states! The final boss dark demon is easy compared to the twin freaks also it's hard like lemmings but when you play it a lot of times guys it s little bit hard guys uh so yeah you so buy it also please give it a try if you don't like it that's ok but don't just look at the boxart and go ugh! Best 2D platform game ever

Wooooah. That was my reaction when I first played this game many many years ago. Obviously, it has been technically surpassed by modern technology, but the artistic direction means that this game has aged far better than most.

Playing as a rejected toy, you have to rescue all the other toys from the clutches of an evil wizard. Not exactly original, but presented charmingly enough.

The whole game is played out on a fake stage with scenery being wheeled on and off behind you, which gives the game a really unique look. Enemies burst through from behind, panels fall off, and you fight the occasional boss backstage. Treasure have always been masters of the boss battle, and this game proves no exception. A giant mechanical dog, a huge robot baby-face which keeps cracking and peeling away to reveal an older face until finally you get down to a wrinkled old man, and an awesome flying stage with a four wheeled cat. Crazy? Yes. Brilliant? Hell yes! Which brings me to one of the best features of this game. The soundtrack is totally phenomenal. It's very unique, and certainly won't be to everybody's taste, but the melodies used are brilliant, with the stand out point being the giant dog fight which takes place to...the bolero!

This game really doesn't take itself to seriously, and was overlooked by many, being released towards the end of the mega-drives lifespan didn't help that, but the fact is that even today, this game has yet to be bettered. It is the epitome of Japanese platforming.

Also, it pretty much pushes the mega-drive to the limit with the best use of parallax scrolling and sprite scaling ever seen.

This is an absolute gem of a game by the auteur's at Treasure and can be picked up very cheaply. Buy it!

Get over the first impression
rosapurpuraa15 September 2006
The first time I played this game I thought it was awful: They were too many colors, too many moving objects, too many everything. I decided to give it a second try after reading recommendations in forums, and soon I discovered that after playing a couple of levels, this 'ugly' game turned into an all time favorite of mine. The game is way too unique, each level has different rules and scenarios, many creative and charismatic characters, and of course and excellent excellent music. Some notes: -It was after beating the 3rd boss that I fell in love with this game. -It has lots of hidden secrets. -the Japanese version differs from the US version when it come to character designs, basically, the US version replaced dolls with robots. -I found a lot of interesting data about this game on the net (including text translations of the Japanese version and info about it).

DYNAMITE HEADDY

"DYNAMITE HEADDY" (1994) is up there with the best of them. When I first played it I hated it more than "PUGGSY" (1993). It was so brightly coloured I got toothache.

When I revisited it I got over that and discovered one helluva unique gaming experience! Like another great Treasure release, "GUNSTAR HEROES" (1993), this game pushes the technology to the limits in level design, gameplay and soundtrack.

It's super camp fun and there's nothing to get used to- all the levels have totally different rules! Brilliant game.

Horrid

This is a truly garish platformer. You play the title character, who can detach he head and chuck it at people. That's how you kill the bad guys. He's not the best character ever and you won't have fun playing him.

The main problem with this game is that there are far too many backgrounds, sub-backgrounds, foregrounds, middle foreground etc. that you never really know where the character is or if it is safe to jump. Plus they are all moving which becomes very distracting.

The color scheme is simply horrid. Nothing buck sickeningly bright pastel colors that make the game look like a packet of skittles more than anything else. I can only see this game being popular in Japan. The English translation just doesn't work.

The story is something to do with an evil circus and rescuing your pals. Already done that in Rolo to the Rescue. Sorry.

Stay well and truly away from this. It's even worse than that game where the robots turn into blingwads. A truly appalling experience.
