Spongebob Party
TheMysteriousReviewer22 November 2021
Spongebob Squarepants: Lights Camera Pants is a really fun party-type game. Back in the 2000s, other game companies have been making their versions of the styles from other games like Mario Party. It was actually a big thing for gaming at the time. And this game is one of them. I will say playing the games like they're Mario Party games can be fun to play. Mostly because there are certain ones that can be worth for the director to tell us to "do it better." Yes the silver and gold mode are meant to be challenging. And I really appreciate their direction the gameplay is going for. But at times it would take forever to beat that high score. Either way, the games can be fun to play. Same would go to at the end of the game where they would present an episode of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy. If there is one good idea for a spin-off series of Spongebob Squarepants, it would've been Mermaidman and Barnacleboy. Because that was pretty cool seeing them become an actual episode for the first time. Even if there are certain characters the players would play as would pick as a specific role, which you get to when you unlock make-your-own-movie. And even if some may say the graphics look dated, I personally think they hold up for the gaming materials that were given. If anyone wants to see what would've been a great idea for a Spongebob spin-off (which is Mermaidman and Barnacleboy), this game is for you. But this game is going to be a Mario Party styled game. If this is something you want to check out, you will have fun with it. It may not be as great as Battle For Bikini Bottom, but that can't change it was fun to play.

3 Stars out of 5 Stars

I'm not the biggest fan of spongebob, but this game was a big part of my childhood. Decided to replay this game for nostalgic reasons, and was left wanting more. The story is pretty quick; complete 3 different mini games. Whoever gets the most popularity points wins the segment and whoever won get their character to play in a 3 minute cinematic. Each cinematic is out of order until you beat the game, then you get the full episode in order. While I did have fun, nothing about this game was super effective, and like I said already, left me thinking "Wait, that's it?".

A fun, family-friendly game!

Playing this game was my idea of a joke since the guy I was going to play it with wasn't a Spongebob fan. But the game turned out to be a blast! Since you can have up to four human players in the game it's excellent for parties, small groups of friends hanging out, or even a family game night! The highlight of this game is the partnership required in half of the Spongebob mini games. Since you have to work with your team mate to win, there's an extra element of social fun involved in playing the game with company. The games are all unique in their design between one another and the lines recited by the characters as you win or lose make for a good laugh.

If you're a Spongebob fan, this game has the double bonus of keeping up with the TV show's bubbly humor. When playing through the story mode, every three games the character who wins plays a role in part of the Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy movie. This means that there are six different characters who can win and play one of the ten roles in the game so it's fun to play over and over again just to see how the different characters react to the roles that they win! A must buy for any hard core Spongebob fan!

Can Purple Lamp Studios, rehydrate this game too?

This is a great 4 player Spongebob party game, that I had so much fun playing back in the day on PS2. I played it again recently after many years because of Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated and I still think it's fun playing in 2020.
