NEW YORK -- Spike TV had an edge on Wednesday with the premiere of its first original drama series, Blade: The Series. The premiere drew 2.5 million total viewers, up from 1.7 million that tuned into a Ultimate Fighting Championship special from 8-10 p.m. It also registered triple-digit gains compared with the same period last year in Spike's target demo, men 18-34 (680,000 viewers) and men 18-49 (1.2 million viewers). Among the Big Four networks, a reality TV showdown Wednesday between NBC's America's Got Talent and Fox's So You Think You Can Dance was fought down to the last tenth of a demo point Wednesday, though NBC drew more viewers with Talent.
