That wild and crazy Embry family
bkoganbing8 June 2017
Roger Smith is hired by the most eccentric Embry family to prove the innocence of Nina Shipman who is looking good for the murder of her estranged husband who was a peripheral player in the rackets. There's no real doubt as to who really did the deed, it's a question of proving it.

Linda Watkins who as the description of the episode suggests has the impeccable logic of Gracie Allen tries in a Gracie Allen like way to cover up the crime. Boy is she ever lucky that Jeff Spencer and Lt. Gilmore are men of infinite patience.

Shipman is a sleepwalker and it was while she was doing her thing that hubby got killed. How Roger Smith and Byron Keith catch the real killer is for you to see the show.

Also make sure to catch Watkins's Gracie Allen act. It's worth seeing.

Back to the What?

Warning: Spoilers
Sorry, Jeff, this one's another snoozer. Not even Nina Shipman or Merry Anders could keep my eyelids up. They're really going through these episodes on METV; this one's from the fourth season, already, and they got a new pretty boy to park cars at Dino's.

What's missing, I think, is that even though the family is off-beat and weird, they're not funny. THAT would have made it interesting. So, we're back to the fluffy , quirky, lightweight and yet kinda fun detective show. It's okay,, but not energy inspiring.

This show was well acted, but needed a little comedic timing, or someone REALLY evil to make it hold attention.
