Such a horrible subject. Archie delivers some ignorant, cold remarks. Solid performance by Sally Struthers. I was really surprised the family didn't rally to pursue charges. But I can understand why they didn't. Pretty good job done with a sensitive subject. Not an episode I'd care to see again.

Gloria tells the family she was a victim of an attempted rape.
Sally Struthers gives an excellent performance here but this is not a very funny episode. The only comedy here is supplied by a subplot about Archie's foot long hot dogs being eaten by the Jefferson's dog. The great actor Charles Durning shows up as a cop who tells Gloria about the reality of being a victim on the witness stand when the case comes to court. The subject of sexual assault is not good story for sitcoms, but this show did not learn it's lesson. In a later episode (maybe the worst one of them all) has Edith being the victim and what's worse is we actually see the attack.
