Matt and Jenny manage to get their first gig when Randi Jo offers them a chance to play at her 16th birthday party. They are initially elated, until they find out that Matt and Jenny's father has booked a trip to the Grand Canyon on the same day. Up until last night, I hadn't seen this show in years. Like many others, I watched Saved by The Bell and California Dreams back to back every day when I was young. I've wanted to get back into this show, after recently getting back into Saved by The Bell. I thought I'd start from the beginning. Like Saved By The Bell. This show has many of the same qualities, albeit a little more believable at times. I had a huge crush on Kelly Packard as well. Anyway, I thought this was a very solid way to commence this show. Nothing overly outstanding happens, but it sets the tone nicely. The band is legitimately awesome as well. The song "California Dreams" is fantastic and moving. Also, i'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure I spotted a very young Paula Patton. My favorite guy character was Jake, but he had yet to appear at this juncture. Matt is cool as well. I'm like Matt in some ways when it comes to shyness around girls. This is a good episode at taking responsibility and coming together. I'm definitely gonna watch this show on a regular basis again
