last good season

I so enjoyed this show when it was on the air, at least until both Delta Burke and Jean Smart left the show. They should have just ended it then; it never regained momentum. I always thought that Anthony was the best character. Mesach Taylor was a very talented man. His scenes were always the best ones each episode.

Meet Julia, the madam of Sugarbaker house.

Warning: Spoilers
Any episode where Alice Ghostley appears as a good one, and here, she announces that she has been assigned for one chance to host a public access cable show called Senior Roundup. Her odd topic has her searching for a prostitute and a vice squad officer but when that fails, she convinces the girls to appear on the show and refers to Julia as the madam, insinuating that Sugarbakers is a house of ill repute. Julia is certainly not amused. The more serious element of the episode involves Mary Jo's dating client Donald Banks (Collin Bernsen) who seems to have a habit of getting women to fall in love with him then dumping them. Mary Jo decides to use Bernice's show to expose Donald who has practically ruined all of the women who work for his company, causing them to create a support group. Bernice's show isn't all that fancy, and it's obvious that it's not going to continue past one episode, but Mary Jo's rant at the end (taking her to Julia territory) is funny even if it's doubtful that anyone will see it.
