Bunts (the always terrific Dennis Franz) gets put in charge of the Hill while Furillo (excellent Daniel J. Travanti) and Goldblume (sturdy Joe Spano) are busy grading officers up for promotion. Belker (a fine Bruce Weitz) meets a younger version of himself in the form of scrappy street hustler Fetch (a sound and lively performance by Robert Jayne). Renko (an amusing Charles Haid) gets reunited with his long lost stolen bike.
It's a hoot to watch various officers bust drug dealers and junkies left and right and confiscate their dope after Buntz encourages them to do so. Naturally, Davenport (ace work from Veronica Hamel) calls Buntz out for bending the rules. Moreover, the scenes between Belker and Fetch are quite strong as Belker does his best to persuade the wayward kid to go straight before it's too late. This episode further benefits from commendable guest contributions from Richard Herd as smarmy presiding officer Mike, Don Sparks as drug tally guy Wally, and especially a very funny Gracie Harrison as the pesky Lori Tuttle.
