'It's not the sea air. It's the sea hair.' What in the world did Julie do to her hair? My goodness! Randi Oakes is here as Julie's old roommate, who always steals her men. Julie, in all her wisdom, tells her that she's dating Gopher. Can Gopher remain true to his own gal? Vanessa Redgrave wants to have a baby with Robert Mandan. That's some anniversary present. We've seen this conflict of an older couple and a baby before. The man is looking forward to retirement, but the wife has a surprise. Phyllis Diller is an old friend of Captain Stubing. Wound up by her, he decides to try on a toupee. It looks good! The Captain has dated some attractive women. Diller is beneath his usual standards. Ted Lange directs! Again! I don't even care that much for blondes, but Randi Oakes is stunning, exactly the kind of reason for watching this show. On Kafka's Love Boat Scale, this episode gets 3 * out of a possible 5 *.
