Interesting episode, musically
tles730 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Pretty good story but a couple of points to make. 1. The relationship with Billy, even adding his brother, by now has become truly tiresome and stupid. Why Matlock would put up with this ungrateful idiot is not believable by this point. The story with Billy's brother is ridiculous. It is better in the episodes with Don Knotts. 2. Why can't Hollywood use people who can actually play piano, rather than hiring people who can't, and use someone else's hands in a closeup to play. I guess it is or was cheaper to use people already in the SAG union (?)

The murder made no sense
Christopher37011 June 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Matlock proved the murder by showing that the victim got out of the running car to try opening the garage door and leaving fingerprints on the door.

But if she managed to exit the running car and went to the garage door to try opening it, why didn't she just turn the car off or better yet just back the car through the locked garage door to get out?!

In an emergency situation like this it's something a victim would clearly do if she were lucid and strong enough to get out of the car to try lifting the garage door to get out.

Why she never turned off the cat or even tried using the inside door that led to the house is baffling and too big of a plot hole to overlook. It would've been more believable had the victim just died in the car, but then there would've been no way for Matlock to prove the murder.

It just all made no sense the way it was said to have happened. If she was strong enough to get to the garage door and conscious enough to try to open it to exit, surely she would've been smart enough to turn off the running car or put it in reverse to run it through the door to freedom and fresh air!
