It takes someone with real talent to play a bad actress.

Warning: Spoilers
When a sitcom loosely based Murphy Brown is Kelly Green'd by the network, Murphy is forced to play hostess to its star, played by the wonderful Morgan Fairchild. After invading the studio for a couple of days, Morgan convinces Murphy to make a cameo on the show as herself, and her one line becomes a trial to get off the ground. The queen of the primetime soap opera has often proven herself to be naturally funny, and Fairchild obviously enjoys spoofing her image to create a well-rounded, intelligent character. The set for her show looks very similar to the FYI office set, and it wouldn't be surprising if some actual tweaking to the regular set was done to change it to look a bit different. A funny cameo by Connie Chung concludes the show, with Connie saying how it degrades a reporter's integrity by doing a sitcom, a wink to the audience and she's doing one. The rapping secretary is also very funny, with Murphy getting rid of him in the most delightful way. Once again, the show comes up with premises that are fresh and new, with intelligent, funny writing that have taken this TV show into the Hall of Fame for excellence. I just wish there was a cameo by Peter Graves spoofing Jim Dial.
