Irresistible Force

One of the cases is the rape of two young girls, both with boyfriends, hog tied and forced to watch. The males come off as cowards for doing nothing or showing little compassion. Mostly, the effort to help John Clark get cleared for drug trafficking gets most of the attention. Andy is trying everything he can. The prime candidate is Laughlin, the nasty, worthless cop, from downstairs. Clark, Sr., is trying to help but there is nothing he can do and he is drunk half the time.

Warning: Spoilers
These are grim times for the cops of the 15th precinct with one f their own in great jeopardy.

Sipowicz is on the warpath in "Bottoms Up", as Clark languishes in jail, facing serious federal charges - 15 to life, as ADA Heywood tells Medavoy when he asks late in the episode - relating to the heroin planted in his car.

It's Laughlin, for sure, as payback, and Sipowicz is making it his personal mission to find proof that exonerates his partner and convicts Laughlin. That single-mindedness means we see a surly and abrasive Sipowicz, harkening back to earlier seasons when he was really fighting his demons, as he tries to make a connection to Laughlin and the drugs. Joe Spano's John Clark Sr. Makes an appearance.
