Mikey: High School drop-out
vex86bird23 June 2007
A lot of later episodes focusing on Mikey kind of annoy me. Of all of the turbulent Mikey episodes this one isn't too bad. After dropping out of High School Mikey steps into a new world and has to decide if he belongs there or back in High School. The message is actually well displayed as you see life for Mikey on both ends. The episode moves a little slow though as you watch Mikey's progression into a life of a poor rocker. Parker's attempts at getting through to Mikey are pretty clever though and his attempt at getting advice from his parents ends brutally funny. If this episode moved a little quicker I'd probably rate it higher, but regardless it's not all that bad.

Mikey's rock and role

Warning: Spoilers
I am huge fan of Parker Lewis Can't Lose, and it's hard to believe it debuted over 30 years ago, yes three decades ago. It's one of the best (and sadly underrated) sitcoms ever, along with Daria and The Simpsons. Anyway, I'm enjoying very much rewatching Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Close But Not Guitar focuses on Mikey and his disillusionment with school after Parker's sister humiliates him with a secret recording played live.

Anyway Kool Moe Dee and Ziggy Marley appear as themselves. A moving episode that sees Mikey reassess what's important in his teenage life and the importance of friends and all init.
