And now for something a little different

Warning: Spoilers
A serial killer is targeting female students at a Santa Barbara university. Still haunted by a similar case that marked his childhood, Bobby Sixkiller sets out to find the killer, but gets captured by him. Worried after not hearing from him for a while, Reno and Cheyenne start following his tracks.

The second "Renegade" episode that Lorenzo Lamas directed (after "Sheriff Reno") is one of the highlights of the series' third season. Not so much for his direction (which, in any case, is not bad at all), but mostly for the superior performance of James Cromwell as the psycho killer (I'm not spoiling too much here, he is revealed about 10 minutes in). Cromwell (who was nominated for an Oscar for the same year's "Babe") is definitely one of the best actors ever to appear in this series, and he makes his character genuinely creepy and deranged. Interesting also to see Richmond in a much less lighthearted mode than usual. **1/2 out of 4.
