There is a first time for everything Charlie!
callanvass5 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Alan gets annoyed over Charlie telling Jake some inappropriate jokes, warns Charlie that Jake is dealing with a flu of sorts. Charlie scoffs and claims he never gets sick. Alan winds up with Jake's virus, only two times more severe than Jake's. Meanwhile, Charlie is ecstatic over the thought of revenge sex with Kathy. Charlie manages to get Alan excited over double dating because Alan will wind up with a soap star. Plans change drastically when Charlie winds up with the flu. Let me just say that I love that Alan got sick before Charlie. Alan being sick before Charlie is justice and rings true. Considering how selfish Alan can be, I thought it was well done. On the other hand, I enjoyed the rare bonding between Charlie and Alan, where they are on the same page. There are some great moments in this episode. Rose's healing strategy was weird and amusing, Alan drinking from the tap when his mouth is full of germs was absolutely disgusting. Charlie says it perfectly "Not very hygienic"

Favorite quote.

Alan: Excuse me. Hasn't anybody noticed I'm sick and miserable here? Charlie: Yes, Alan, we noticed. Which is why we're gonna make like Hockey players and get the puck out of here!

When Charlie and Alan fall ill
salgonjulien4211 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In this thirteenth episode Charlie wants to arrange(settle) a date and wants to be accompanied with Alan who is at this moment a sick person. Charlie is then going to become sick as Alan and the meeting(appointment) will not take place. This episode marks clearly a slow down after the excellent twelfth episode. The funniest in this episode it is the pathetic state of Charlie and Alan who pulls(entails) multiple effective funny situations. But otherwise the intrigue is lacking thickness as for the dialog they are more low(weaker) than has accustomed while remaining honorable. This episode is the example-type(-chap) of the episode of a good level but which is lacking charismatic minor characters and which rests on his/her laurels.

A solid first series episode
studioAT19 March 2017
One of the nice things about these early episodes of the show is that there are very little plot. This means that the relationships of the characters can really shine through, as can the performances from Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer.

There's not a lot going on in this episode, other than both the ill Harper brothers trying to get well enough to go out on a double date.

There are some nice interactions along the way though, and some sharp lines that more than make up for the lack of plot.

Overall a decent episode in a good first series.
