Blaze of glory

Richie and Eddie watch the annual Hammersmith carnival (riot) from their living room window and do a spot of looting.

The final episode is a very strong finish to the series. It has a perfect blend of hilarious banter and slapstick violence, along with great character moments from both.

There is some excellent dialogue as they watch the carnival and describe what is happening. To compliment this we have funny sound and lighting effects that help make their descriptions even more funny and somewhat plausible.

Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson are in full 'Dangerous Brothers' mode when their characters are making fake home video accidents with a stolen BBC television camera. Eddie is on the receiving end of the most violent sight gags and one of them in particular is jaw-dropping. How Edmondson kept so calm during the filming of it beggars belief.

We get another sequence of them watching something and humorously describing what they see. This all leads on to a spectacularly violent conclusion that I like to think Richie and Eddie walked away from, but if not, it's rather apt to see them go off air in a blaze of glory.

Thanks to both for all the laughs and RIP to the comic genius that was Rik Mayall.

A triumphant closure. (To the T.V. series at least.)

Warning: Spoilers
The third season is my favorite of show's run and Carnival gives an eye-catching farewell, however I believe that being shot couldn't be the end of these lovable morons, if all the physical damage and falling from a great height can't stop them, what can?

It's unfortunate that a fourth season was never made, I wished it was written and at the least published to the net, just to continue the madcap adventures of two of England's least popular and funniest nobodies.

Farewell Bottom

Goodbye Richard Richard and Edward Elizabeth Hitler you will be missed. It is the final EVER episode of bottom. And the boys go out in a blaze of Glory and laughs.

Plot In A Paragraph: It is the yearly Hammersmith carnival where the local residents take part in riots and Richie and Eddie find watching the Carnival from their flat window is the best place to watch the riots. After going looting, Eddie learns Richie has stolen a BBC camera and they find out that the video tape in it, is a dirty sex video of Prime Minister John Major. Richie and Eddie being.... Well Richie and Eddie, they decide to blackmail the Prime Minister.

This final episode of bottom is grounded a lot more in reality than the previous few episodes of the final season which bordered on absurd. It was still always funny and this final episode was a joy.
