When Daria and Quinn are caught sneaking into the house late their parents are not impressed; then the next night Quinn is late back again; to make matters worse she had gone out on a date after telling her parents she was going to an algebra study group. This is too much for her parents, in particular her mother, so they decide to set up a family court to try their two daughters. They are quickly found guilty and grounded for a month. Quinn is soon climbing the walls but Daria just reads and plays board games with her parents. It is surprising then that Daria is the first to break the grounding because she wants to see a roller-hockey match between the school staff and some local DJs... she isn't interested in the game but the students are running a book on when Mr. DeMartino will have a heart attack and she can't miss out on that!
I hadn't watched 'Daria' in years but when I spotted it on an obscure channel I had to watch it again. I'd forgotten why I'd enjoyed it so much but it didn't take long to be reminded. The main story was fairly basic but it provided sufficient laughs; the best laughs however come from Jane's explanation of why the hockey match is a must see event... complete with a flashback to what happened the previous year. There are also so good laughs to be had from less than intelligent Kevin and Brittany's speculation about the exact nature of Daria's punishment.
