A mixed bag of an episode.

"Dead Man Walking" looked rather promising - Little John's capture, a bitter family reunion in the cell and a torture room. Though the Sheriff is suitably barbaric and the scenes in the cells between Little John, Little Little John (who isn't the worst actor ever but is really just sad) and Alice Little were suitably depressing, and the scenes in the Torture Room were well done (and harrowing in parts - which just shows what this series can aspire to if it makes the effort), this episode failed in one aspect - the action. There should have been so much more action in it. And it proves to be predictable, and once again - everything is sorted out in the end. This series never lets past episodes have any change in the developing plot that should span the whole series, and every episode just starts again with everybody having forgot what just happened in the last episode. Why did everybody just forget about Harold and the mask from the episode before in this? Next episode (which I'm sure everyone thinks is ripped off Lord of the Rings) they probably will have forgot that Little John was ever captured and Little John will have forgotten about his family. This series has failed in the aspect of incorporating the happenings of the previous episodes in the whole series' continuing plot, but was this what the BBC intended? If it is, then they are certainly slipping behind in the world of TV. 7/10
