Mike Wallace narrates this short ep of "Biography" about legendary football coach Knute Rockne
tavm12 August 2020
I found this ep of "Biography" by accident on Amazon Prime when I had originally looked for the movie Knute Rockne, All-American. What I got instead was a 30-minute ep of the legendary Notre Dame football coach as hosted and narrated by Mike Wallace with plenty of vintage footage of Rockne speaking and supervising many of his legendary college games on the gridiron. This particular ep also briefly showcases perhaps the most legendary quarterback of this particular team: George Gipp, nicknamed "The Gipper", who helped make the Fighting Irish team undefeated for two seasons before dying of a fatal disease. When he did, he told his coach to inspire his surviving players when they feel like they have no chance of winning to "Win one for The Gipper". Of course, Warner Bros. later made a movie that I mentioned earlier in this review with Pat O'Brien as Rockne and Ronald Reagan as The Gipper. Hope to watch that soon. Anyway, this was quite an inspiring ep especially in this present time when-because of Covid-19-a couple of the college conferences are cancelling football. Of those still deciding to play, there's now the possibility of trying to make sure that people in crowds are sitting six feet apart from each other in the audience, assuming that there still will be one when the season starts...
