Pen gate resumes

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 100 is an understandable milestone for the series, but in terms of quality it's rather middling. The focus is once again on 'pen gate', with the episode centring on Victoria and her revelations. She meets with Burke Devlin and tells him some crucial information, while Carolyn warns Roger that the game is up. Expect plenty of furrowed brows, if little excitement.

Nancy Barrett gets to hold the hundredth episode board.

Warning: Spoilers
"Nobody stops me from what I want to do, especially nasty little boys!!" That's Carolyn Stoddard's remark to young David when he threatens to tell his father what she is overheard. Meanwhile, Victoria visits Burke and in a total switch of what happened just a week before tells him that she thinks that Roger is the one who killed Bill. Her reasons are valid, but it shows that her naivete and flip-flopping of what she believes is something that should be taken into consideration when giving her credibility. It makes you wonder how anybody will end up trusting her as the show unfolds.

There's also an interesting heart-to-heart talk between Roger and David where Roger tells his son that he doesn't consider him very loyal. That changes when David tells him that Carolyn is off to meet Burke for dinner. Conversations continue between Burke and Carolyn in regards to "that darn pen" that led her to suspect him in the first place. This sets up promises of plot developments that most likely will not come to fruition based on past themes and structure in previous episodes. It's episodes like this that makes me glad I can watch them on a marathon basis and not to mend day by day only to be disappointed when the supposed Friday cliffhanger is revealed.
