After an amusing situation involving the production number slate, this episode starts off with a very spooky and mysterious narration by Victoria who indicates her fear of Roger. As he screams out "Vicki!" before the opening credits, you come to realize that he certainly isn't Heathcliff screaming out for Kathy and that the New England cliffside setting isn't the Moors. Victoria's constant meetings with Burke would surely get her fired from any other employers so why Elizabeth keeps her on certainly remains its own mystery.
Meanwhile, Maggie tells her father about her conversation with Victoria, more recap and serving to make Sam start on another binge. It gives interesting developments to father and daughter as Maggie subtly worries over her coffee as Sam gets another round. The episode is slow moving but not in a bad way, for this time it serves a psychological purpose. The episode really takes on a moody level when Roger confronts Victoria upon her return. Check out the obvious weather machine outside the Blue Whale windows, twirling around for the purpose of appearing to be rain.
