Really, really bad..
carriearnett-3428918 April 2022
I love these kind of films but this one is just bad all the way around. I can't name one thing I enjoyed about it and for me that's tough. 45 minutes in and STILL absolutely nothing interesting or scary has happened. Not even a jump scare! I couldn't even tell you one name of any of the leading characters. I woulda until you can watch this for free if you really want to watch it. Total waste of money and time.

Annoying Group of Kids Get Lost in Backwoods
murdocsmistress10 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Pretty typical "inbred mountain man stalks kids" film. The film is low budget, full of crappy acting, unlikeable characters and a super cliche villain.

Special effects were decent but that's about the only highlight.

I want my rental money back personally.

VERY SLOW MOVIE
lindski-263957 June 2022
I usually love scary mother nature movies, but this one was soo disappointing.. The movie took FOREVER to get going!! I mean nothing really started happening until almost an hour in; they didnt really include any of the bad hurricane weather; and I didn't think they did a good job with the gorey, special effects parts either.... I also didn't like how it cut back and forth between the college kids and the police investigation stuff; they should've kept that seperate in my opinion and maybe used it for part of the ending or something. I'm glad the filming wasn't shakey since some of it was filmed from their perspective, but they should've picked between either just using the "found footage" or just filming it from a 3rd party perspective tho. It definitely had potential to be a decent movie bc of the storyline....

Beyond Bad
zamboni-3663331 May 2022
This was just awful. Nothing happens for about an hour and then these annoying characters start dying. And you don't care! The ending was meant to be a clever twist. It wasn't. And this stupid twist also went on way too long. At least I didn't pay anything to watch this dud.

God awful
hodabintjones30 May 2022
Its really bad. The plot and ending. I'm actually Mad at myself for sitting through it. If I could give it zero stars I would. The ending had no clear explanation and it was one of those "something happens in the credits," endings.

Avoid at all costs!!!
hollywoodangel-4009219 July 2022
This movie bored me to tears. It was not a horror movie to me. The acting was awful and the ending makes absolutely no sense. I wish I could get my rental fee back.

A good laugh
ryleilove30 October 2022
This was a good laugh. I love watching movies below a list and this was a z. The acting was absolutely horrible. Storyline had potential but was unfortunately poorly executed. Horrible script. I don't know any of the actors let alone even recognizing them. Reading some of the other comments, I see some rented this movie. I'm thankful I was able to enjoy it free on Tubi. This isn't something I'd ever watch again but it was a really good laugh so I definitely don't regret it.

I don't know why IMDB requires so many characters as if we get paid for our opinion but this paragraph is to eat some of the letters up.

Nothing original here
Everything about it is annoying. The story had potential, but not worth the watch at all. No character development, some decent camera work (when it's not the found footage) Cheesy lighting effects.

Great storyline, terrible execution.
thescarexp6 June 2022
Should have picked one: found footage or not. Just total cheesy vibes and annoying characters and ignorant decisions. By the time you get to the "twist" you don't even care...

You want to help the Killer
OakieRF30 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Group of relentlessly unlikeable characters take shelter in a large metal dome hanger in an airplane scrapyard to avoid an oncoming hurricane. Little do they know there's a killer afoot who lives there and is part of some group? That films his killing trespassers onto the property (or I guess failing that, they import victims somehow in other cases?). Lead guy looks like Ryan Gosling's almost twin brother......except with the acting range of a mannequin. Every character in the group is written as almost entirely unlikeable and their immediate responses to anyone else seems to mostly be immediate snark, insults, or overreaction yelling to nothing comments and questions. People who are supposed to be friends do not interact this way. Sort-of Ryan Gosling's girlfriend is the worst for this among the lot. So, script - 0. Acting - 0. Plot - 1. The idea in itself was fine for a horror movie set up but so many stupidities and things that don't make sense ruin it. They pile into a Jeep to escape an oncoming hurricane - though sort of Ryan Gosling's high level of intelligence leads him to do so with an almost empty tank of gas to start the trip with all stores boarded up and closed. Mensa member he isn't. They find opened cans of food and a box of cell phones in the hanger. 'Ah, it's nothing'. Um, means someone lives there and logically, abandoned scrapyard hanger with a BOX FULL of cell phones?.....as in , taken from someone. I highly doubt this place gets so much traffic that the 'Lost and Found' has a full box of cell phones. But, hey, let's ignore the giant Red Flag. Someone bangs and rattles on the hanger outside when it's otherwise dead silent. Sort of Ryan Gosling's comment - 'oh, it's nothing', and everyone drops it. Oh, c'mon! Vape friend is left alone and FILMS and apology to his friends on his phone for how he's been acting before they return. Because he couldn't just, y'know, apologize to them in person when they return, right? What was he going to do, play it for them while he stood there when they got back? Lol. Totally stupid plot device just used because he was killed right after and it was a way to have the friends 'see' what happened. Since it was 100% not what anyone would actually do, totally takes you out of the story. Same thing with twice in the movie the hanger door is open with the killer about five feet away behind one of them and it slams shut - the 'killer got them / gotcha' visual. Looks cool but the problem is they had to work hard to open the door both times and then it just randomly slams shut with no one actually closing it just for the 'cool visual'. Note to filmmaker - 'cool visual' still have to make some sense. At least Leatherface reaches over and slams the door shut, right? He didn't just stand there and it closed itself. The 'oncoming hurricane' LOL......it's been 12-24 hours (?), big rush to leave, and.....we never get more than some minor wind and light rain. THIS is what you guys were rushing away from in urgency??? Ok. Ending - totally goes off the rails in case you forgave all the stuff I just mentioned. The cop doing in intercut interview about the aftermath / 'search for killer' goes to a bar and talks to a lady I think(?) he's related to, some implication of having to cover things up and a larger organization sanctioning the hanger killing, none of it well explained at all. For a totally unexplained reason, we learn from the woman that the last surviving girl is still alive. WHERE? WHY? Makes NO sense. Killer is even there in the same bar and cop grows his conscience and shoots him to stop him -- though wouldn't this organization just hire another big dude?. Anyway, point for the creative use of popcorn here (watch if you must). The whole organization thing and cop knowing what happened but having to cover it up takes the movie in a different direction. Interesting attempt at a twist, except it was confusing and not well explained. Either that or by this point, I was so mad at watching this whole movie that I just wanted it over. Sequel hint at the end......oh, joy.

The cast of a Benetton ad goes missing during a hurricane, Also Bane is there.
leesimon-2635726 August 2022
It looks to have been shot with one professional camera, in addition to many of the cast's Motorola flip phones. There are worst movies out there, and at least some of the scenery was nice, and the sound was consistently mixed.

Let's just get it out of the way quickly and just mention in passing that this multicultural, woke, vaping cast is an excuse to perpetuate the most cynical and dramatic racial stereotypes. But hey, white people! Am I right? (that line is legitimately in the first 17 minutes of the movie.)

The attempt to legitimize the found footage narrative style was so lazy, and rather indicated the requirement to film this on cheap, handheld cameras. This was also the first movie I've ever seen, in my life that included re-enactments of police rummaging through crime scenes in addition to the interview-as-an-exposition-dump trope.

The acting was so bad, their lines were so insultingly stupid and their characters were so unlikeable that I found myself wanting to fight them physically. I'm not even sure if I wanted to hit the actors or their characters, but I was overcome with the overwhelming desire to hit them, while holding a brick.

I will definitely never want to see this movie again, and I may end a friendship if someone I know ever so much as suggests watching it. However, to stay consistent with how I generally rank movies, I added one star for the fact that it was filmed outdoors, and some of the scenery was pleasant to look at.

I wish I was sheltered from watching this dumb trashy movie
jordondave-2808521 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(2021) Unsheltered HORROR

It is one of the most asinine movies that does not make sense, for half of the movie is hand held while the other is filmed like a regular movie. It centers on five college friends as the driver of the jeep, Aaron Somerfield (Caleb Martin), along with his four friends of Michelle Harris (Chauntel Hall), Ana Garcia (Melina Kay), Emily Park (Raven Wynn) and Mohamed 'Mo' Toma (Edgar Tomas Lopez) driving along the highway attempting to getaway from an upcoming storm. Aaron begins to freak out as soon as he notices that his gas tank is almost empty. And instead of waiting in line, like the other drivers do along the highway, he decides to take a direct turn on a deserted gravel road, just because he believes there's like a gas station nearby. I mean, what are the odds a gas station is nearby on a dirt road as opposed to on a proper highway! Anyways, at first what seemed like five missing college students who were attempting to dodge a possible storm, turned into a slasher picture, when Aaron asked a passerby how close they are to the nearest gas station. They soon come across a closed boarded fence, a junk yard for airplane parts, and by not staying together, comes with predictable results, particularly Aaron, after witnessing his friend getting killed by his own Iphone. He wants to stay because he believes he is still alive. It is so dumb and phony beyond belief.

As it turns out, the detective who was assigned to the case of solving the missing five college students was in on it, by discarding and tamper evidence and so forth. Which even in real life is not even possible, as it always involves several investigators and not just the one. And the detective Quill does this because the people connected to the 'dark web' may have also got his wife as hostage. And at the end, he manages to grab all of the college kids Iphones and take them with him before killing the slasher who may have did the killings with a silencer before he himself is killed. It is like the movie was made on a whim without any kind of logic or thought. Bomb.

Boring snoozefest
boomchek7711 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A group of youths trying to find shelter from an incoming hurricane (which is never shown) end up getting lost in the woods after their Jeep runs out of gas. They end up in an an abandoned airplane junkyard.

After about an hour of boring dialogue, and attempt at character building with irrelevant relationship drama, they get killed one by one by a guy with a mask.

Movie lacks any tension, fear, or jump scares, and is just a total snooze fest. Movie cuts in and out between scenes of the youths in the junkyard, and a police detective interview with the media trying to piece what happened. The interview was cheesy and poorly written as well and had the detective describing events and things that normally would not be discussed publicly during an ongoing investigation.

Then we are presented with a twist at the end with a cliche seen many times before.

The movie idea was good but everything else about the movie wasn't.

Spare yourself the boredom and skip this one.

Wasted My Time and Electricity watching this movie!
th-9107130 September 2022
I can't believe that this movie was released in 2022. I love these type of movies normally. But Unsheltered was a terrible movie!!

These so call college kids look like late teeny or early 30's adults.

And the college kids kept calling this a road trip but yet it was also a evacuation. It didn't make since at all for them to do half the things they did in this movie.

I don't want to spoil things for anyone that may take time out to waste their time to look at this. So I'm not going into detail.

What I can say is definitely don't buy this movie!!!!

If you had a choice to clean the baseboards in your neighbors home or watch this movie. You will more than likely be cleaning your neighbors house.

Just okay
tambry-2363316 August 2023
Just okay. 5 friends trying to evacuate before hurricane. I'm not fan of movies through characters cameras to begin woth. Would I recommend it? No! Good storyline, stupid movie. . It was slow to begin with. I didn't care for the news reporting cuts Tries make it sort of like the True crime shows. The twist is even stupid. It's supposed to be a horror movie and it's not even scary. I'm glad I watched the free version with ads on Vudu instead of paying. If you are even interested in watching it and have Vudu try the free version with ads even though ads are Annoying it's better than wasting your money.
