Hi, Society (#1.10)

This grandma surely was very manipulative. Telling her own daughter she has cancer only to get her granddaughter to go to some party! And the things she said to Dan and Rufus! I liked the conversation Lily had with Dan. And also the phone conversation of Rufus with Lily. Chuck was also pretty good in this episode. Him trying to keep Blair was pretty interesting. Can't believe her and Nate are back together, I don't think this will last though.

Wow! This episode was amazing! It's so much love in this one. Nate realizes that he actually is in love with Blair. Chuck is disgust and heartbroken. Dan and Serena fight and make out. It's hard to choose what I liked best.

Even Lily and Rufus had some love vibe around them! Serna has quite a manipulative grandmother. She's almost lovely. I also loved the similarities between them! :)) It's nice to see Chuck heartbroken. But mostly that means danger is approaching.

I don't like the fact that although Nate and Chuck are important characters in the story, they don't appear in every episode.

True gentlemen are a rare breed

This is a really good episode. We begin to experience Dan's discomfort when he listens to high society people speak about travelling to Dubai knowing that he hasn't been there and cannot contribute to the conversation. I know exactly how that feels with high society people in church speaking about travelling to Nepal, Dubai and various other places that I haven't been to. All I could say was that I would soon be going to Yugoslavia.

Then there is the conversation that CeCe has with Dan. She says to him: 'The way you feel never goes away. When you speak, people don't hear you. They never see you when they look at you. They wonder if you're a charity case or an extra-curricular activity. Girls like Serena don't end up with Dan Humphrey. People like you turn into cocktail anecdotes of their youth.' That is such powerful writing. Having come from urban society myself and entered into high society in the church, I have experienced talking to people who don't hear me, and people looking at me without even seeing me. Some of them have looked through me and pretended as though they don't know me. I think I've probably ended up as a cocktail anecdote about how they extended charity to someone from the inner cities.

Great villain and great music

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I do not how many time they spent on making this episode. But it was perfect.

Blair has a lot of reasons to be angry on her boyfriend Nate, and Chuck is - Chuck. These three are very complicated characters and that makes this triangle is tough for everybody - as Nate and Chuck are really good friends. or not? Celia 'CeCe' Rhodes is a perfect villain. She used every dirty trick she can in order to get what she want. Lilly wasn't able to fight her, and she was her first victim. After 20 years she got a chance to fight back: she helped Serena by bringing Dan, and that was something that even Cece liked. She was beaten, but she has every reason to be happy. That was an epic moment. This amazing scenes were followed by great music: The Pierces - Three Wishes and Timbaland - Apologize ft. OneRepublic. Also, Gossip Girl lines were perfect to make this episode even better.

Best Gossip Girl episode - ever!

Blair: Have you seen Nate?

Chuck: Nate was asked to leave but here I am.

Blair: I know that look. It's a look on your plan falls into place. You are enjoying this. You knew Carter was going to my house. You tipped off Gossip Girl. You ruined my cotillion on purpose. Huh... You did all this for your own enjoyment and didn't care what would do to me. Which is exactly why you and I can never..

Chuck: Please slow down there Waldorf.

Blair: You make me sick. This thing between us, it's over. For good

Chuck: Wait. I didn't mean to..

Blair: Don't talk to me!

Chuck: Blair!!!

The One With The Cotillion...

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is okay, it's not of my all-time favorites, but it is worth a watch. It's definitely not bad enough to skip.

In this episode, the annual Cotillion Ball is approaching, and Blair decides to go without Nate. But when she finds herself being featured in The New York Times, she asks if he will pretend to be her date, for the good publicity. Meanwhile, Serena decides to not go to the ball at all, but her Grandmother convinces her to. Jenny volunteers to help organize the ball, and Lily takes her under her wing. But then her parents tell her that Jenny can't attend the ball, because of her Mother's recent returning, and her new art gallery show. How rude. A lot of other stuff happens in this episode, it's just so hard to sum up.

Overall, I give this episode a 6 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Good.
