Such a great episode!

Warning: Spoilers
This was a juicy episode filled with so many amazing things! I love how it started with Hope, Josie, & Lizzie together but with tension still there between Josie & Hope, and ended with the three all together again and them all on good terms again. Getting to see simuLandon & how he couldn't stop expressing his love for Hope was hilarious and so adorable at the same time. Landon's subconscious let Hope know just how much love he still has for her, even though Landon himself is afraid to admit it. Clarke's scenes with Hope were great, he has been a surprisingly great villain so far! Getting to hear simuLandon say "hello brother" to Clarke was a great TVD reference, and reminded me of how excited I am over us getting Kai Parker back soon! Landon & Rafael leaving Mystic Falls together was heartbreaking, but I doubt they'll be gone for long. Although I'm a massive Handon shipper, I absolutely love Hosie and can't get over Hope telling Josie "I miss you." All in all, just a great episode in a great season!

Boring and a nonsense episode
Zaid_Khoury12 December 2019
Lets start this off with everyone getting their memories back from last episode, this episode should of been way more interesting than what it should have been.

The new Sphinx character brought mystery and more action than the whole episode.

Not only was it boring, and very badly done, i did not feel any chemistry, like yo! Landon is supposedly so and hopelessly in love with Hope, where did that love go, their logic is i'm a complex human being, suck it up! she lied to protect you yet if the roles were reversed he would do the same thing.

There shouldn't have been any choosing, its Hope its always been Hope, he had dreams about her for godsakes when everyone forgot her, he romantically linked with Josie because he was lonely and that's it, they were nice and that's it.

The episode should not have ended the way it ended, it should have been Landon choosing Hope and ending it with the Sphynx mystery, the show needs better writing, like to ignore the love triangle they made Landon go away. WHAT! They're literally trying anything to let them move on. They need to be their own persons, you've grown up. Time to live like a tribrid, phoenix, witch etc..

Boring, and possibly the worst episode of the show
namob-436736 December 2019
Except for a pretty decent and kinda interesting new character in the Sphinx, this episode was so boring. Snooze galore!

Not only was is boring, and generally badly done, I also did not feel the acting. Normally this show, no matter how cliche or crappy it is, the actors save it and it is still watchable, but so not with this episode. Have the actors grown tired of this too?

Honestly I do not care anymore. I had some hope for this season seeing it had a good start and a couple of pretty good episode, but I have better things to do than to follow this cliche ridden bore. Since the next episode is a xmas one, we can safely assume that too will be so filled to the brim with cliches that we should all do drinking games to it. I will consequently wait for the first episode after xmas to decide whether or not I will stop watching or not.

I give this episode a 3/10 mainly because of the Sphinx, I liked that guy, but this was not good.

I have said it before, this show need to move on, it need to grow up. Stop dancing around adult subject, you are grown-ups and sex is part of life; you are werewolfs, vampires and witches, act like it! Get out of that dumb school, join the FBI or go on a killing spree, whatever, but move on.

An overall thumbs down, was just too boring.

SO where to begin with this episode. I feel the memories of Hope Mikaelson, returning to everyone would be more elaborated on, like people wanting more of an explanation as to why she decided to keep herself unknown. The next monster, the "Sphinx" really did feel like an afterthought, a last-minute addition to help connect 1 or 2 main points, but that was literally it, very little screen time but had potential to be an entertaining character. Landon .... Mmmm where to start in other episode he has been a "emotional taken charge" type of person (eg kissing Hope in the holding cell, to name one scenario) but this episode for him to do a total 180, seem really out of character/ be a completely different person, still grinds on me a little, was less than impressed with this. The one thing I did really like about this episode was the clues (not hidden but still done well), Sphinx End Quote "There are 2 prisoners. One is a master of his cage, the other returns home without power. The sins of a father are visited upon the daughters here, and not here. No hero rises but can be felt by the golden arrow. The wolf among you has many faces, when time fractures the darkness overwhelms, but the greatest destroyer of all, is love." I feel like I sort of get the clue but knowing that each phase of the clue could have 1 or 2 meaning/translation, leaves me excited. Overall this episode was boring and really uneventful and leaves me with reservations as to whether the show is now on its downwards role (which I hope not), I guess time will tell.
